Sunset at California Grill?

I am thinking about trying to get an ADR so we can see the sunset from CG. Who has eaten there at that time of day and was it memorable? I don't really care about seeing Wishes from there and maybe an earlier ADR would be a little easier to get.

I found this website to found out sunset times. Also sunrise, moonrise, moonset, and full moon.

We haven't been there at sunset and our ADR in Sept. is for just after. I think it'll be very pretty.

We're doing just what you're considering next month - our ADR is just about an hour before sunset and we're looking forward to watching the sun go down during our dinner.

That's what I want to do - eat about an hour before sunset. I think it would be pretty and that is the one place DH said he'd love to eat when he saw it on the Travel Channel.

I wonder how hard it is to get a window seat if it's early. Of course, we could always wander out onto the balcony to see the sunset.

Can't hurt to ask for a window seat, that's what we're hoping for too!

Book your ADR about 2 hours before Wishes is scheduled. Let your server know you don't want to be rushed, order wine, appetizers, 1st course, entree and dessert and by the time you're being served dessert Wishes should be starting.

We did this on August 15 and it was perfect. Our ADR was 8pm, but we requested a window seat and were seated at 8:25pm, WELL worth that short wait. We just headed out to the observation deck to wait to be called and enjoyed the view!!! Great food (california roll, soup, pork tenderlion, halibut and a wonderful banana/ coffee dessert ) and a wonderful view~~~~Perfect!!!

We've been there many times at sunset but are usually in the wine room so not facing West. I love watching twilight fall over the World.

The blinds are often drawn in the main dining room until close to sunset. I wouldn't worry about a window table as the whole estaurant is surrounded by windows and you should be able to enjoy the sunset from any table in the main dining room.
