I don't know if I am repeating a thread already but..
I have read about a Sunrise Safari but.. that's really all it said.
What exactly is a sunrise safari(I assume it's at AK but how do you take part in one.. and is it a good choice with a 5yo)?

Have a Great Day everyone!!

The Sunrise Safari is only offered to guests staying on the Concierge Level at the AKL. It is approx. $50 per adult and $30 per child and offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You meet in the concierge lounge in the morning and are taken to the AK. You then go on the Kilimanjaro Safari attraction, but at a much slower pace and with much more information provided. After the safari you go to a private room at the Tusker House restaurant where they offer a buffet breakfast (only to Sunrise Safari participants). After breakfast you are given a FastPass to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris the regular way and are on your own from there.

Hope that helps.

The Sunrise Saferi is one of the best tours at all of WDW. I would recommend this tour to everyone who wants to get a good view of the animals and a chance to really talk to some CMs.

I would love to do this but we are staying at ASMo.(My 5yo picked this resort. We stayed at ASMu with Nana in Feb. amd he loves the idea of staying with Mickey in the Pool, not to mention the value with 3 adults and 1 child going). Are you sure it's only offered to Guests of AKL Concierge level?

KDawnLily,
Yes, it's only offered to guests staying concierge at AKL.

We went on it in Feb. And even at this slow time it was sold out with conceirge guests going on safari. It was wonderful. We will stay here again just to go on the safari. Plus AKL is wonderful.

How far ahead of time do I need to book AKL concierge to be sure to get on the Sunrise Safari? How do I make the reservations?

Glad to see this post! I was wondering if there is a minimum
nite stay inorder to do this. Can I book just one night conceirge
and go on the safari the next morning or do I need to book 2 night stay?

CJ

We are only staying one night in Concierge, and I verified with the CM's in Concierge that it could be the night before OR the night after. We were originally doing the night after, but that means getting up at some unholy hour to check in, etc. We then bought into DVC and changed everything around so we are staying the night before now. Then we're switching to Savanannah view after that.

You may make reservations 90 days out, and can do so by calling 407-938-4755. They will take your credit card information at that time.

The Sunrise Safari is wonderful, it's worth every penny. But they only hold it twice a week. You can make reservations through AKL concierge.

I think the breakfast buffet is the best on property. :)
