We already reserved the SS and B for our stay. The IPO said it takes about 3 hours. I was so darn excited that we got it booked, I didnt think to ask at the time whether that 3 hours meant from the initial time you all meet in the CL or once you get to the AK. I know the safari part is roughly 45 minutes to an hour, I can't imagine the breakfast taking 2 hours. When you finish the breakfast I am assuming the park has been open for a little while, is this correct?

For those who have done it, how long does it really take? I guess some linger and talk to the guides which I would find completely fascinating. But was just trying to put an itinerary together as this will be our first day in the AK ever. So to start it out with this incredible safari would be absolutely amazing.

I heard that you also get FASTPASSES to ride the safari ride. Would these be for right after the breakfast or for later in the day?

Thanks to all. I don't know what I would have done without these boards. My DH is convinced that I need to get some help at a support group, such as OVERPLANNERS ANONYMOUS.

I was also wondering on which days of the week the Safari is done now. I remember reading that the days have changed, but I don't remember to which days.

I saw the sunrise safari on the travel channel. Do you have to be a guest at AKL, just a guest on property, or can anyone do it? And what are the rates....or at least is there a link you can share?

We left AKL at about 7:30am on a bus (we went to the lounge around seven, had some juice and coffee, then went to the lobby to meet our guide), and walked out of Tusker House after the breakfast at around 9:45. The fastpasses were for from 10am to 11am, so you could use them right away.

DisneyFreg The Sunrise Safari is offered to concierge ALK guests only and it is Thurs. and Sun. mornings. The cost is $49.95 adults and $24.95 for children. If you are staying club at any other resort they now offer a Wildlife Excursion for guests. These are offered at 10:00 and 1:00 I believe, and the vehicles are air conditioned. They also take you along the trails giving you time to snap some pictures. The cost for this is $45.00, no breakfast included.

As of October 1, Sunrise Safari is $55.99/adults and $27.50/children under 10. The "3 hour tour" includes meet and pick up from 6:30-7:00 to AK. Then you learn about certain animals and then ride the extended jeep. The tour is about 1 hour and then they take you to Tusker House for Breakfast. It now runs Sunday and Thursdays.

Wow..guess thats not an option for us *stinks*. They should offer a special excursion for each hotel....wouldn't that be nice? Oh in a perfect world. Of course we'll be staying in a value so I couldn't expect much. Have fun! I saw that ditzy girl....hmmm sara brown? do the sunrise safari. It looked like a neat experience.

park admission is required according to the IPO CM who booked it for us.

I can't wait.

Yes park admission is required. Your tickets are scanned when you head to the lounge before 7:00.
