Sunpass and car rental

Hi all! Just got back from a week in Fort Lauderdale had a great time! Got the usual upsell at the car rental( Thrifty) declined extra insurance, prepaid gas. the agent asked where we would be driving we told down the Keys he replied you will need a sunpass for ALL the tolls. So we took one but I think we only hit one toll there and back! We having an upcoming cruise on DCL from PC I know there are tolls at the Orlando airport and on the way to the port, have they gone cashless as well? Thanks

You can use cash at all tolls in the Orlando area.

At some toll plazas you need to go down what looks like an exit ramp if you are paying cash.

The all electronic only tolls are down near Miami.

I'm confused about this. We are renting a car from Alamo at Orlando airport. I know it is equipped with sunpass. Do we get billed at the end? Do i pay the cash (is it quarters?) and keep receipt?

We are also driving to Miami the 2nd week. I know those are cashless. Do we get a bill at the end there when we return or later in the mail?

Also one last question about Toll Roads do we stay to the right? Go straight through if you have Sunpass in Miami? But stop and pay if you are in Orlando?

I have never driven a toll road so completely unfamiliar with them and have visions of me swerving lanes at last minute because I am in the wrong one.
