DD recently started lifeguarding and is in need of polarized sunglasses. She has been borrowing a pair of mine, but now refuses to wear them as they are too
"mom-ish." :rolleyes1 Can anyone share where they found polarized glasses that are shaped like the classic Ray Ban Wayfarer or Clubmaster styles without the hefty price tag?

TIA for any help!

If you go to OakleyVault.com they are have a 50% off sale until tomorrow on certain styles. Cheapest pair is around 60 bucks, not sure if that would be too pricey??

Do you have an REI near you? They have a couple lines with inexpensive polarized sunglasses..... Chili Peppers and Native Eyes come to mind. Their website shows quite a few options for what you're looking for

go to campmor.com I, too, need to have polarized sunglasses and I have been ordering various types from here for years. They have lots of styles, "momish" to sporty. Check out the sales first; I think there is a tab near the top/right that says "bargains" or something like that. Mine usually run $30-$40, on sale from $60 and up; however, I bought a few back up pair this year for $10/each. I like the fact that they tell you how big/wide the frames are; I have a big head and now know how wide to purchase to fit me comfortably. They have a great return policy, too. :cool1:I have also gotten some great tour bags/purses from them in the past, but its been a while.

Have you looked in your local drug store, grocery store, or athletic store? They often carry nice polarized sunglasses for less than $20 and in many styles. DD17 just bought a pair of polarized aviators from a kiosk while on vacation.

Our local Mighty Dollar (similar to dollar tree) has lots of polarized sunglasses. They usually still have tags on them from drug stores like Rite Aid, CVS, ect. I go through them for styles I like and buy several pair each summer (and lose several pair each summer as well, lol! I leave my sunglasses everywhere!)

Target sells polarized ones.

Costco has some too - designer and Kirkland brand. I think the Kirkland kind were around $30.

Keep in the back of your mind, that if you decide to go with a pair of Oakley's (which is I wear exclusively), when you buy your next pair, you get a 40% loyalty discount with them. You have to purchase them buy phone, BUT, you do get a steep discount.

I have just done this. Makes an expensive pair of glasses, so much more worth it. As well, the current pair of glasses I have with them, I have had for 10 years. they have worn well. Some scratches on the lenses. The arm broke off the other day at work, and I thought I was done. BUT, the way they are designed, it just pops back in. No screws. I was amazed.

They are expensive, but probably one of the best companies for sunglasses.
