I've decided my posts are a little long, so I'm splitting up today's notes. Now that the invitation crisis is managed, we can move on to the next dilemma: bridesmen's suits. We had picked out a beautiful suit at Men's Wearhouse, and we were scheduled to have most of our guys go in on April 19 for the fittings. BUT when I called MW yesterday to see if they had measurements on file for one of our gents, they informed me that the suit we picked is now $100 more expensive, and they haven't kept any of the info we've given them.
We figured that buying suits would be a good way to go, as four of our boys have professional jobs that require suits every day. And for a morning wedding, tuxes are optional/inadvisable.
Now, though, we're thinking about renting tuxes from Carolyn Allen's. They have to come to Disney to steam our dresses anyway, and their rates are very reasonable. $350 for a suit might be okay for our two Wall Street people of honor, but for Angela's dad (now retired) and my parents (who have to buy a suit for my dad and my little brother), that's a lot. $150 to rent a really nice tux, including shoes and cufflinks? Much nicer. Plus, Carolyn Allen's has been very helpful and responsive; MW, not so much. You'd think the salesperson would call to tell us that the suits were going up in price lest he lose the commission generated from 6 suit purchases... Anyway, what do you think of this one?
We're debating between the Mickey vest and something more plain. Their bouts will be green, but the girls are all wearing turquoise. I think the turquoise vests are a little much, though. We've already ordered bright orange yarmulkes too:
.
FMIL's suggestion was that we have everyone wear a main color with an orange accent, so for the girls it will be blue with orange, and for the guys, green with orange. But does that mean a plain-colored vest and a green tie? A bright green vest? The Mickey vest with a tie? HELP!
