DH and I are HUGE football fans, and it just hit me today that we'll be arriving the same day our team plays Sun Night Football. It's my understanding that the in-room tv's get local channels (like NBC), but I would prefer to not be stuck in our room. Any suggestions on where to catch the game, other than ESPN Club? And if the ESPN Club is the only real choice, how early should we plan on getting there for an 8:20 game? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! :flower3:

ESPN Club is the best choice at the Boardwalk. Are you planning to eat? Which Sunday night? What teams are playing? There is a big difference if it is Miami, Tampa or Detroit.

We found that most of the bars at the resorts will show nationally televised games.:thumbsup2 They even played the Sunday game on the big outdoor screen on the Wonder! You should have no trouble finding it around the resort.pirate:

we watched some preseason games in Tambu Lounge in the Poly- the question is if they'll be showing your team's game. I guess if it's Sunday nt football- it should be the only game on.

Yes, we are planning to eat. It just wouldn't be a football game if we didn't enjoy some game-day snacks and a drink or two (or three!!) :rotfl2: It'll be Sep 25, so only the second game of the season- Colts vs. Steelers.

Also, we'll be staying at AKL, if that makes a difference at all.

Thanks guys!! :goodvibes

We'll be there in November when the Steelers play the Ravens. We haven't been to the ESPN club for a while on a Sunday night but I think the last time we were there, we got there about 2 hours prior to the game. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Its a fun place to watch the game. Depending on the game could be a little rowdy. The Steelers and the Colts should be a good game and have a good amount of fans cheering for each team.

Have fun!

PS I would take a taxi unless you have a car. So much easier.

It will be on the Tv's in the lounge at AKL. We watched a sunday nite game and also the World Series there. The TV's are small but you won't have to worry about getting home. Being the only game on TV it will be on everyplace. We plan to go to Crews Cup to watch on Nov 13. We are staying at BWV. ESPN is a fun place but I hate to have to show up so early to get a table. We once got in line an hour before the game and watched the 1st quarter outside. Like PP said it does get rowdy!

You should be fine watching from almost any bar in any resort. We were there during the stanley cup and the game was on at the bar in the Poly, that was a pretty festive atmosphere, there were a lot of people into the game. Great food and drinks too!

We sat at the bar in Jambo house before a reservation at Boma, and I remember there being a few large flat screens around on ESPN, so I'm sure the game will be shown there, just not sure if you can order food from there or not.... and the african savanna doesn't really give that "football feel" ;)
