Sunday/Monday visit. Which park first?

We'll be passing through the LA area in early June and will be visiting DLR on Sunday June 5 and Monday June 6. The plan is to get 2 day (non park hopper) tickets.

Which of the parks would be better on the first day? My tentative plan is to visit DCA first since they close early which may make it easier to get up and back to the park on Monday morning.

We're not morning people and I'm afraid that we'll miss the convenience of the WDW Magic Bands. Our preference is to reserve FP+ attractions starting at about 10:30 am and then arrive around 11 and start riding. The thought of having to go back to the old way of arriving early in the morning to collect Fast Passes isn't very appealing anymore.

Thanks for the help.

Where are you coming from? With the change in time it might be easier to get to the park earlier.

California Adventure has early entry for on-site resort guests on both Sunday and Monday. I would start at Disneyland both days unless you have access to early entry.

Sorry, I see you won't have Park hoppers. The parks have been very busy on both Sundays and Mondays this year because of the 60th anniversary. Just flip a coin and do whichever works better for your schedule.

We're coming from the Central time zone so it will feel a little 'later' to us for a few days. I never go to WDW without park hoppers, but have decided against it for this trip. We like to stay out late but can't justify the price increase for just a couple of extra hours. DCA closes at 10 and DL closes at midnight. The only time we might hop would be after DCA closes on Sunday night.

Our last visit to DLR was about 5 years ago, before they started to enforce Fast Pass return times. Back then, it was a big advantage to have hoppers so that you could easily move between parks picking up multiple fast passes. I could gather 8 or 9 sets before using all of them in the late afternoon/early evening when the parks got really busy.

After our short LA area visit, we'll be heading up to the national parks for several days.

There is usually a late WOC at DCA. The show seems to be right before or after closing and extends your evening in the park.
