If you only had a 3 day hopper, and were at Disney the whole week after Thanksgiving, would you bother trying to go on the Sunday right after the holiday? We have 3 kids, and are staying offsite.

I have read that crowds thin out, but how much? Will it be a great benefit to go this day, or should we hold off and start on Monday? We would most likely go to AK then Epcot if we go Sunday.

With only 3 days I want to make sure we get the most bang for our buck and are not in lines all day.

We also plan on going to Disney Quest, a day at Downtown Disney, and of course a few days to just enjoy the hotel. Maybe we should shop Sunday?

Sat we plan to go to Kennedy Space Center, as my son is a nut for learning more about the NASA program. (he's 12) It will be hard to wait an extra day for Disney, but worth the wait if the crowds are still high.

Also, does anyone know how busy the Space Center will be Sat after T-day?

Thanks for any ideas you can share!

If I only had 3 days to do parks, I would do Disney Quest on that Sunday. Yes, the parks start to clear out, but they will be even more empty on Monday. I am arriving on 11/26 and will be in the parks that saturday but then I also have an AP and 2 trips in the last 7 months. I don't mind the crowds as much since I know I have just been there in August and will be back in May. We will be doing a lot of the seasonal activities then (candelight processional, osborne lights, MVMCP). To maximize your trip time, I would do the parks during the week and the other activities on the weekend.

Do you have tickets for MVMCP? For $35, you get 7-8 hours in MK plus extra activites. Its almost like an extra park day. Plus, it is a great time with a lot of nice christmas activities.

I would agree with starting the parks on Monday. We arrive on T-day and I know it will be crowded until Sunday afternoon/night. I would think that the Space Center wouldn't be too bad on Sat. Then do either DisneyQuest or Downtown Disney on Sunday. You could actually spend the morning at DQ and then shop in the late afternoon/evening at DTD. But the parks will be really less crowded from Monday morning on, so I would plan to visit them then.

I love being able to get second opinions!

I think I we will hold off till Monday. I also will look into MVMCP. It seems like alot to pay but if you get that much time in the parks thats not too bad. Since we have so many days we will probably need another activity to keep the magic rolling. ;)

Thanks again!::MickeyMo

We will have wed. before t-day until dec. 3 ... 11 days. My plan is like yours and I will fill in days doing resort tours of x-mas decorations and we will also go to sea world..... my 10 yr is a animal nut!! Did you know that seaworld gives you 7 days for the price of one? Around 45.00 I think. With 7 days you can go i little each day and not be wasting money. Just an idea. Have fun.

Your plan is similar to ours, as well. I have cut our park time to 2 1/2 days. We are going to MVMCP- Sunday night, Epcot-Monday and MGM-Tuesday. We were originally going to go to Kennedy space center, Saturday, but I think we have to move it up to Friday. I, too, wonder how crowded Kennedy space center will be. We will be staying with family and they have a friend with an Air boat that they want to take us on and they can only do it on Sat. and Sun. So that's why we have to move space center to Friday because not only are we going to MVMCP, on Sunday, but we are going to Daytona USA, as well. Does anyone know if MVMCP is typically crowded, the first night?

For the last 2 years we have arrived the Friday after Thanksgiving and have made EPCOT our first park on Sunday. I can honestly say that we thought it was pretty empty both years. The only thing we waited for was Test Track about 30 minutes but with Fast Pass it was no problem for that ride either.

I agree with the last poster. We arrived last year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and spent Sunday at Epcot. Longest line was TT, but we used Fastpass and had no problems. We did MGM on Monday, MK on Tuesday, my sister got married at the Wedding Pavillion on Wednesday, spent Thursday at DD and did the MVMCP before heading home on Friday. We had a fabulous time, crowds were not bad at all, and the weather was gorgeous. We hope to go back that time of year again, maybe in 2005.

I agree. Wait until Monday. Sunday is getting better, but Monday it gets ALOT better.

Ok, this is scaring me!
We arrive on sunday, and were planning on seeing Fantasmic that night. Will it be wall to wall people? Was thinking by sunday evening, hopefully everyone will have gone home!!

Maci,

I would say if you are staying onsite and have the length of stay passes to go ahead and go, you have nothing to lose. I would think most people will have left from the holidays except for those actually vacationing, most I would think to hold off until Monday. If too crowed you could always try Epcot that first night.

In my case we are using a Park Hopper, and these are precious days to us so we are waiting till Monday when the crowds will be less for sure.

Also to say, I am so excited now! I went ahead with the MVMCP, received tickets in 5 days. They are very cool cards and will look great in my scrapbook!::yes::
