Sunday 72 degrees, Monday 76 degrees? Is that better than 80's?

Is it a blessing in disguise that it will be only in the low to mid-70's Sunday and Monday? Sounds like it would be much more comfortable walking the parks with temps in 70's than it would be in the mid-80's. However, does that mean it will be kinda cold for swimming and water rides? How about pools (large and quiet at POR)? Are they "well" heated. I'm not sure that Kali River Rapids is a good idea on Sunday morning when the temps are still tring to climb out of the 50's and 60's into the low 70's. In fact, some web sites show Orlando for 49 degrees as a low Saturday night which would tie a record low for that date. I must admit I was looking forward to lounging by the pools on some warm afternons.

On the other hand, it will struggle to get out of the 50's with rain this weekend in the northeast, so there are no real complaints here.

Any thoughts?

You will LOVE it! I went to WDW this past March, and we mostly had temps in the 70's. A few days it hit 77 or 78 and it was absolutly perfect! It was hot enought, yet not swealtering. At night it didn get chilly, but we wore jeans and light jackets or sweatshirts and it was very comfortable. I didn't really do any water rides, but some people in my group did. They dried pretty quickly.

As for the pools- we stayed at the All Star Movies, and kids were in that pool even when it was in the low 60's! You can see the steam coming out of the water! I'm stuck in NJ too, so anything is better than what's going on here!

Go to kali last thing at AK, and then back to resort to change. Love the nonhot temps. You can easily swim anytime, anytemp. The pools feel great on cool evenings.

Seeing that you are coming from NJ you will find 70's plenty warm enough for swimming. The pools are heated to 82 so doubt you will have a problem.

IMHO, that is the ultimate in temps for WDW. I love going there when it's in the mid-70s, with a slight breeze. AHHHHH. :flower: You'll be fine--it'll be perfect!

We were at AK on a cold morning and rode Khali with ponchos on. It worked great, we stayed dry, and we passed our ponchos along to others in line and asked them to do the same with them when they were through.

We're arriving Sunday, and I haven't seen the updated weather. I only have everyone taking one pair of pants. Of course, we have 2 inches of snow on the ground here, so maybe the 70's will be plenty warm for us. ??

If they could guarantee me 76 degrees every day on our July trip, I would happily pay double for our tickets.

Cheers.

We were just there-- We had mostly low 70's but there was a north wind which made it feel cooler. Coming from Colorado- we wore shorts during the day with a light jacket for the morning. The nights we watched fireworks we changed to long pants and had a light jacket- which was needed as the wind was cold. Be prepared for cool evenings and nice days.

Took the words right out of my mouth! OP - you are going to love it! We were also there Mar.'05. We rode Kali's close to noon and it was perfect, and we swam in the Poly. pool day and evening, and it was nice (although climbing up the volcano steps and waiting for your turn to go down the slide was a bit chilly). Beats the snow storm and cold weather we missed in CT.

Don't be surprised if you do get some 80s day, too. Have a great time! :wizard:

Oh dear, I'm a HOT weather girl. No swimming for me on Sunday I think. But it will be pleasant for touring the parks and the rides. But when I swim, I like the air temps to be at least in the 80's. LOL I should live in Florida.
I'm packing jeans and sweatshirts for the evenings. I've been there before in May, and remember wearing them while watching Illuminations.

:sunny:

Good thing I joined this thread because I was only taking one pair of pants for everyone - and that was what we were wearing on the plane!

We were so happy when seeing the weather is going to be in High 70's and low 80's for our trip starting Sat. I hope it stays that way. We love touring the parks when it is in the 70's.!!!!! :cool1:
