What are they doing to the sun wheel for such an extensive rehab time?

Turning it into Mickey's Fun Wheel. Repainting the whole thing and retheming the ride.

They're retheming it to become Mickey's Fun Wheel. The sun face was removed and will soon have Mickey's face. It also got a new paint job with a red, yellow and black color scheme.

Ride should be the same just new paint and instead of the sun mickey will be there. Anyone have recent pics??

The cars will be the same, some stationary and some that swing. Same basic ride, just a different theme.

Yep, they have put the cars back, seen a photo, and the wheel itself has not changed except for the retheming.

I agree. That ride terrifies me and I love thrill rides. I'm not afraid to admit it.

Supposedly, each gondola will be themed to one of the fab five, as listed below.

mickey- red(the non swinging gondolas)
Minnie - purple
Donald - blue
Goofy - green
Pluto - orange

I can't wait to see how it turns out!

The official open date for Mickey's Fun Wheel is April 24th, but I heard a rumor that said they're ahead of schedule.

The kids said there weren't any handles in those things.....they don't have them in the stationary cars either and I could sure have used one. LOL Man I hate doing that ride! LOL My kids better appreciate that I do that thing with them. lol

We LOVE the red stationary ones. It's so pretty and peaceful up on top. Most of the time on the ride you are loading and unloading gondolas, so it's nice to enjoy the sights and views.
