You know the thing I'm talking about? You put it on your front windshield to shade your dash? One side is foil, the other white. Does it make a difference which side is out? It seems like if the foil side were out, it might reflect into somebodys eyes and bother them, so I keep foil in and have the white side out.

Am I doing it wrong?

Remote starter solved that question, I cool/warm as needed

Foil out. Reflects sun away from your car.

You'll see tons of foil in AZ. It can be bright when the sun hits just right but in a parking lot it's minimal. The sunrise/sunset while driving is worse.

LOL.

It's the steering wheel that burns your hands in AZ. OMG, it's like touching a hot griddle.

same principal, just man up and let your hands get scorched , thats old school :p

LOL. That video is dead on. That and frantically searching for old McD's or Taco Bell napkins to make an oven mitt with.

Yeah, I was a prissy girl. Visor was USED! :smooth:

Foil out. It is designed to reflect the sun.

Eh. An idling engine probably uses a third of a gallon in an hour, or 40 ounces http://www.quora.com/How-much-gas-does-a-car-burn-per-hour-while-idling. Every five minutes spent idling uses about 3.3 ounces of gas. If gas is $3, that's about eight cents for five minutes. Maybe ten cents. Disclaimer, all calculations not from the link were done in my head. No guarantees on accuracy.
Not everyone agrees.

I live outside of Buffalo so it's foil out in the summer and foil in for the winter. Probably does nothing in the winter but it's a psychological thing.
