Sun to Sun or Sat-Sat?? Do start and end dates matter for your Disney trip?

Hi,
We'll spend about a week at Disney World. Is there a difference in choosing a Sunday to Sunday trip versus a Monday to Monday trip, etc.?? or... does it really matter?
Just wondered if I may be missing some details on when is ideal to get into the resort/parks, or what is less expensive.
It may just have to do with when we can fly the cheapest?
Thank you for your advice! :)

Our last trip, we left on a Monday, and it was cheaper than if we left on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The cheapest days to fly are Tuesday's and Thursdays. Over a weekend you will pay a bit more for your room.
Sun-Sun, Sat-Sat won't have a big price difference in the room but you might get a better flight leaving on a Saturday because most people will spend the whole weekend and leave Sunday.

One thing I like about coming home on Saturday is that I have all of Sunday to get back into the swing of things before DD goes back to school/DH goes back to work.

This is me as well. DH doesn't seem to understand that coming back home on a Sunday gives me little time to unpack, do 3-4 loads of laundry, cook lunch/dinner, take showers and get everyone ready for school/work the next day. Fun times.

Midweek arrivals and departures are ideal, since the airfare is often cheaper. Not sure that there is any financial advantage in flying on Mon vs Sun, but the number of people travelling and arriving/departing may be less. We tend to arrive on Tues or Thurs.

Resorts are more expensive on the weekends, but if you're only staying 7 nights, you'll only have 2 nights at this rate no matter which night you arrive, so that won't make a difference either. Again, if you were staying longer, it would be cheaper to arrive mid week.

I agree with the PPs that if you have work or school to contend with on your return, it makes sense to give yourself a day at home to get yourselves re-organized.

Base it on airfare since you are staying a week regardless. I am going Wednesday to Tuesday this November.

Flight tend to be cheaper flying midweek.

For the past 4 years I do my best to fly Mid-week to Mid-week no matter where I'm going.

For my November trip we're going Thursday to Wednesday

will probably do thursday to monday (11 nights) next time... lower flight cost offsets the cost of extra nights, and maximizes the nights at lower rates

plus gives us a few extra non-park days at the pool to relax

I did Sunday to Sunday for years; and then accidentally switched to Saturday to Saturday. I love getting there early, leave late the next weekend and still have most of the day Sunday to get ready to go back to work.

We arrive on a Sunday but don't go into the parks until Monday and we leave on a Friday but we stay there for two weeks.

Our family squeezes every minute out of our WDW vacation:goodvibes We leave Friday after work and stay until the following Sunday. We came home one time on a saturday and all we thought about that night was that we could have been watching the fireworks or on this ride or at the pool...

Because I live on the west coast, and it's a long day flying for me, I prefer to get home on Saturday, if I have to go back to work on Monday. That being said, this trip I return home the night before work. It's going to be a tough one.

Normally we try to go with the cheapest flights. DH is coming back early by himself this year since his vacation is M-F (weekends off) so he will have a day to rest before he goes back to work. The rest of us went with airline prices even though DS will end up missing a few days of school.

It's cheaper to fly on Sat then Sun.:thumbsup2

ETA: on SW the cheapest days are Sat and Tue I don't like mid week to mid week as working a partial week then having to come home and work the remainder of a week just feels weird. I'd rather do sat to tues or tues to sat trip than a tuesday to tuesday.

We do mid week as well. Usually we fly out on a Tuesday & come back home the following Tues, Wed or Thursday. The flights are cheaper which is why we do it.

Tuesdays. Sounds odd I know ,but the flights are less expensive. We usually go for 14 nights so saving even a few dollars on airfare makes a difference.

i usually do a Sat. - Thurs or Fri, that way i have the weekend i get back to rest a bit before going back to work on Mon.

Another vote for mid week here. Airfare tends to be cheaper, so we try and travel Wed. to Wed. On the few occasions we traveled on Friday night or Saturday, we found check in at the resort to be a bit chaotic. Mid week check in check out, no issues.
