Sun City near Tampa, FLA-info wanted??

What does anyone know about Sun City, FLA. DH is there visiting a friend, and he just called me full of enthusiasm about the place. What's amazing to me is that whenever I've mentioned retiring to FLA or even visiting, he's never enthusiastic. He's always just a low-key kind of person. So this seemed really surprising to me. What does anyone know about the place. The only specific example he gave me is that the roads even have seperate lanes for the golf carts.

Huge retirement community. Huge. Every ammenity you can think of. Very nicely laid out. It's about 20-25 minutes from downtown Tampa.

I'm about an hour and a half ( I believe) south of there and from what I understand it is mostly older retired folks in that particular community. It is a well located area and close to lots of stuff. Did you have any specific questions?

Actually I do have some-What are the housing prices like? Are there any nice houses for less than $100,000? I'm trying to figure out how the housing costs compare to New England (high when we lived there) and south Texas, where we now live (very low). Also, are there community pools or just at individual houses? How are the taxes? But I guessI'm mostly concerned about housing prices. And how is the medical care? Is it an area with good medical facilities?
