Sun 10/18 or Tues 10/20 for MNSSHP? Villain's Sinister Soiree?

Does anyone think one of these dates would be better than another?

Also, I've never heard of Villain's Sinister Soiree until now. When do the tickets go on sale for this? Does it take up too much park time or actually save you time since you don't have to scope out parade/firework spots and you can actually meet some villains without waiting in a million lines?

Thanks for any help!

they announced it very late last year and its in cinderellas castle and is a desert party where the villians come table to table it lasts about an hour and takes up a good chunk of party time if you went to the 10:15 one, they also had a 11:45 one. They were the only way you could meet the villains last year because the dance party no longer had a meet and greet after. Unsure what they plan to do this year.

I loved the Sinister Soiree and am hoping to attend again, we had perfect viewing of the parade and show, and as we were dressed as the step-sisters, once we were inside the party it was even better, For us it was not a take-a-way but a add to the fun time

I hope they dont add it this year it seemed an excessive expense to an already hard ticket event... "double dip disney". I do plan to attend MNSSHP on 10/18. but I think Tuesday will be less busy.

I agree! I did it last year (dressed as the Queen of Hearts) and had a wonderful time. Perfect parade and fireworks viewing, and then went to the 1145 party. So nice not to have to wait so long for the parade and not be crushed by the so many people. (I was wearing a hoop skirt)

I don't go but like it because it takes people out of the lines I am waiting in. :)

We went to the VSS last year. It took up way too much time, IMO. Plus there were issues with CMs having the wrong information and us getting sent all the way around the castle, fighting against the crowd, after fireworks just to get to the same place where we started from that the CM told us was the wrong place. We did the first one of the evening. The characters were nice, neither my DH nor my DD liked the desserts. I thought one was good, one was nasty, & the others were just ok. When we left, we were so done, we left the park. In the past, during MNSSHP we enjoyed more rides and stayed longer. So for us, it wasn't worth the time or extra money.

I really enjoyed the Villains Sinister Soiree last year (I wrote up a review, Figment’s Villainously Good Food & Wine Festival, 2014) and would happily do it again this year. The focus of MNSSHP for my family is to see the parade and fireworks, do some trick-or-treating and get in a ride or two. We really liked the reserved viewing area and meeting the villains was something we normally wouldn't have done, but enjoyed it a lot.

Last year, the event was announced later (August).

Thanks for the info everyone! You seem to be split on whether or not it's worth it, but seeing that my kids are only 5, I don't think we'd be doing anything that lasted an hour and started at 10:15. Decision made!

I guess I'll switch it to Tuesday. We are super early in our planning (my husband doesn't even know about the trip yet), but I wanted to at least decide which parks on which days! Thanks!
