Hi!

Has anybody stayed at the Summerfield Suites? I was wondering if one location is better than the other (LBV or Int'l Dr.)

Would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Jennifer

I think the LBV site is easier for WDW and that the Intl' Dr is probably better for Universal.

We spent a week in a 2bdrm at the LBV location this July and thought it was just fine. There is a Winn Dixie supermarket across the street from the back entrance to the hotel. Prices were pretty good and it was a two minute walk to get to.

Lots of restaurants to choose from within walking distance (Tony Roma's, Joe's Crab Shack) and if you push it, you could walk to the Crossroads for a bigger selection.

I didn't care for the continental breakfast - nothing but carbs. There were grocery store type bagels, sliced bead, assorted muffins and danish, cereal, coffee, juice and milk. You could get a omelette or a big waffle for an extra 3 bucks.

Steve just a moment to pick your brain,we're staying at SS this time around but depending on what map you look at it keeps getting further & further from Xroads! We've always stayed at LBV(one side of I4 or the other) How much further along the road is SS from Tony Romas(famous for ribs you know) ?
Thanks in advance:Pinkbounc

Summerfield Suites is located right after Tony Roma's (and Steak -n-Shake), on the right hand side of the street. For those not familiar with either of those landmarks, it is about a half mile north of the Crossroads shopping center and about 2-3 blocks past Palm Parkway (and the Sheraton Safari).

Does Summerfield LBV has Elevators ? i read that the Hotel has 3 floors but it doesn t has elevators, and others bad reviews. How is the Hotel ?

I stayed at SS on IDrive last October. No complaints, my kids were more than happy with the breakfast, lovely rooms, very clean, if a little small.
There were lifts there, laundry facilities on each floor too.
Cafe Tu Tu Tango is right across the street, absolutely loved it there:) Lots of shops within walking distance too.
I did have one very small gripe actually, the pool was in shade from about 11am right through the rest of the day. No big deal really, but on the days we chose to take it easy the pool didn't look as inviting as others I've seen.
Came across as more of a convention centre than a tourists hotel too, everyone very nice and helpfull all the same.

Hi Everyone!

We have stayed at SS LBV twice, last Sept. and Thanksgiving 2001. We were quite happy both times. There are no elevators at LBV so if you can't do stairs be sure to request a first floor room (which we did and were granted). We stayed in a 2 Bdr. Trio Suite, which is basically a condo. They were clean and comfortable, staff was very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was okay, if you like cereal and toast. There is a Winn Dixie behind the SS, which is very convenient. We took advantage of having a refrigerator and bought sandwich fixings and packed lunches in our soft sided cooler for half of the time we were there.

We really liked the hotel, they are perfect if you are travelling with a large group of people, but don't want to split up into different rooms.(2001-7 adults and 2 kids, 2002-5 adults and 1 kid) They are also great if you have a baby!!! Both times we had hoped to take advantage of having a kitchen and whip up dinner a couple of the nights we were there, but who really wants to cook dinner after being in the parks all day.

If anyone else has any other quest6ions I would be happy to answer. We would definately stay there again!

Hannahsmom just a big question.. Is it a fully equipped kitchen or just a microwave & fridge?

Hi Shooby Doo!

They have a fully equiped kitchen. Full size refrigerator with freezer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, a couple of pots and pans, dishes, silverware and glasses. I think it had a toaster too. The kitchen is about the size you would expect in a "condo" or small apartment. When we were there in 2001 MIL was able to make a big omelet breakfast for the whole family (we were tired of cereal:D ). We did buy our own dishsoap and sponge at Winn Dixie, I don't think they had one in the unit. Housekeeping would put any dirty dishes in the diswasher and run it for us, which was unexpected and very nice.

By the way, I have seen this hotel priced at $170 for the trio suite, but we got it for $90/night and 4th night free last year through Hotel Kingdom.com.

I stayed in a 2bdrm in March 2003 and loved it..very convient and clean....

To the SS experts! It sounds as though it is in the middle of everything. Was wondering if it felt safe? I definitely think some hotels feel safer than others, and it is important to me. Thank you!

No elevators...I only remember the hotel having 2 floors not three but maybe other buildings have more floors but I don't think so...and as far as other bad reviews...I researched this hotel to great lengths prior to my March 2003 stay and I never found a negative review...not sure where you are getting your info...

The hotel is wonderful...I felt very secure there...

We stayed at Summerfield Suites, LBV in a two bedroom trio suite in 2001. WE LOVED IT.
The pool is nice, the kids loved the breakfast, and it was very clean. You can walk to restaurants, we ate at Steak and Shake.
We had our car, but I think they had regular shuttles to Disney.
We were on the third floor, overlooking the pool, which was great for us, but if you dont do steps ask for a ground level room.

IT's a great property at a good price, IMO.
