Summer Water Park Hours- Extended?

We are going to Disney this August and have a flight that arrives later in the day and we probably won't get to our resort until about 4pm. We were hoping to go to one of the waterparks (Typhoon Lagoon I think) right after we check into the resort.

Unfortunately, Disney has posted a closing time of 7:00 pm for the water parks the week we are there(weeks prior they close at 8pm). Any chance they might extend the hours? I know park hours are sometimes unexpectedly extended, but I'm curious about the water parks. I'm okay with a quick visit to TL our first day, but more time would be even more fun!

I guess it depends on when you are going in August. We have gone the 3rd week in August for many years. The crowd levels are much lower then. Many Southern US schools begin the first week in August. Where I live, schools start the end of August. However, band and sports practice for high schoolers often begin in the 2nd or 3rd week of August. Lower crowds are going to mean reduced park hours, especially in the water parks.
