Hi all-

for the first time we are going to SSR in the dead of summer.

Has anyone been during our timeframe?

Any ideas on crowds and heat?

any ideas if parks are open super latnight?

Thanks.

ps. Labor Day is Sep 7th...so its the week up to Labor Day

This is the time when we usually go, and are going next year. HOT HOT HOT! Very hot.

Crowds die down a little bit the end of Aug early Sept since more schools are back in session. But, it still might be more busy then you are used to. We find it quite manageable.

Park hours are great though. Closing sometimes 11-12 at night, EMH bringing it to like 3am.

great...the EMH is right up our alley

we normally take long naps and like the late night parks. Our son loves being up "late"

I am so excited....see you there!

It is Hot and Humid. Be prepared. There are usually thunder showers during the day or the time we went there was. It has to cool things off some.

We have gone many times end of August - might be doing so again this year.

Nice and hot and humid, lol. Thundershowers at any time (we are always prepared w/ponches - well you know sometimes you forget them and that is when you need them.. When you have them, no rain).

We like to hit a water park (early) one or two days and stay til mid-afternoon. Go back to villa, shower, relax and head out 5/6 pm. Have dinner at the resort, DTD, park or another resort and finish the evening at that park.

We also like to take our time in the morning and spend some time by the pool. Have lunch at the resort (villa or by the pool). Again, shower in the afternoon and head out again for the evening.

Very rarely, we leave the resort to get to a park early, if we do, we come back to resort around noon/1 pm. Lunch, pool, etc. and head back out for the evening.

You gotta tried it once. Hats, lotion, and lot's of water. Have fun.

This will be our 6th year going at the end of August. The weather is tropical, if I had to give it a word, but it feels like summer and we like that. Lots of swimming, late nights, and AC attractions.

Thanks so much. So we got the heat thing down!

How about crowds? Heavy, not so much, medium?

Any insight?

How about Pirate and Princess Party at that time?

Disney has been offering Free Dining last few years during this time and I think it has been more crowded than when they didn't offer it.

While the park may have slightly more people, ADR and CS locations are more than packed during normal dining hours.
