My husband and I are planning a cross country train trip to end in LA and since we will have to give up our yearly WDW trip, decided to spend a few days at Disneyland instead. We were originally thinking of going the 2nd week of october so that we could see the balloon festival in albuquerque, but just realized that would probably mean crappy hours, lots of closures and no fantasmic! at DL. Is there anything good about going that time of year? If you are going in the summer, what is the best time to go crowd and weather-wise? Ugh, decisions decisions (I am not super interested in the balloon thing, though, so hubby knows what my vote is!)

thanks,
Lisa

Summer = extended hours, all the shows, some heat and LOTS of crowds.

October = reduced hours, reduced shows (no Fantasmic), usually great weather and LIGHT crowds (during the week). Weekends are almost always crowded at DL.

Good luck deciding! :)

I would go during the fall. True there is no Fantasmic, but the crouds will be much lighter and the weather should be much more pleasant.

Can you work November into the schedule at all?

All the christmas decorations will be up, the crowds will be lighter than summer(except tkgvg week)but busier than october and the hours will be longer. Also, on mouseplanet there's been rumors that Fantasmic! might continue through the fall on weekends.
