Summer in October

we barely hit the low 50's today. it will be in the low 30's tonight. we had snow this past weekend.

where did fall go????

Climate change is real.

Absolutely!

We hit our high temp around 6:00am. It was a weird day.

I use weather fluctuations as an example to students of why averages are not always a reliable source of information. But honestly, it's scary what complete havoc can really be behind it.

Yep it’s nice. 95 here in south jersey. Humidity low so it doesn’t feel like a summer 95. Feels like 99

That was my daytime high just outside of Philly in South Jersey, too. I went out to get the mail and that was that. Right back into the central air. Now it's nearing 10:30 at night and the temps are quickly falling. Looking forward to some real Autumn weather tomorrow and over the weekend.

80's here but muggy (south Ohio). I'll be happy if I finally get a mild Halloween with no rain.

I live in PA. Snow is way better than 90s in October.

Can't agree with you there. There's nothing fun about shoveling feet of snow in -10 degree wind chills, or getting salt all over your car, or having your face go numb. If you're in eastern PA, perhaps you remember the Halloween snow storm about 5 or 6 years ago. That caused us to lose power, water, sewer for a week. No, not fun. I'll take my 97 degree high today and be quite happy with it. :teeth:

I for one am hoping for a substantial snow storm or two this winter.
On a Thursday evening/Friday morning....after I've been to the grocery/liquor store and brought a big supply of firewood up from the barn:dancer:

Interestingly, here in the (far) North, the colder it gets the less snow we get. A big dump of snow almost always happens at temperatures just at or below freezing. It was actually just a little above 0C for the first two days of our recent snowpocalypse, which was good because a lot of it melted as it fell.

I will be right over :beach: Michigan's temps are falling fast and that's why they call it fall around here. Has nothing to do with the fifty billion leaves that will be in our yard in a couple of weeks.
Our leaves are already down. The trees shed them in summer drought.
It's currently 97* with a 'feels like' temp of 100* in Memphis, TN. It's been like this for months. I'm ready for a cold winter.
96 here. COOLING TREND!!! COOLING TREND!!!!

October 29, 2011. Almost 8 years ago. The only measurable October snow in my memory. We got about four inches of wet sloppy snow, but I know the Philly area and north got much more. Back around 1980 there was a dusting of snow on the ground when I woke up about October 15, but it quickly disappeared.

Exactly a year later, October 29, 2012 was Superstorm Sandy.

We certainly could use a good storm or two here. Kill all the yellow jacket queens. Too many survived last year.

My dd was a junior in high school that year and Homecoming had to be cancelled because of the snow. That was a GREAT year because we got tons more snow in the winter.

I don't think there is anything fun about sweating to death while walking to my car. I'd rather shovel.
