I Would like to make a Disney in summer survival kit for my MIL for Mother's Day. She can not be in direct sunlight for long periods of time because of medication she is on. I am thinking sun hat, cooling towel, sunscreen, personal fan, and maybe a certificate for a dole whip. Not sure what else to include. Any ideas?

How about some clothes with UVA and UVB protection? Columbia has a huge line of these types of clothing. Shirts, pants, dresses, hats, etc.

A refillable, insulated water bottle would be a good addition. I swear by my CamelBak backpack, because I hate having to carry a water bottle, and it's just so stinking convenient, I'm spoiled now :)

Bimini Bay Outfitters has lightweight, long pant/sleeve clothes that have UV protection (and one of the shirts you can roll up the sleeves, and one of the pants you can roll up the hem for capris or unzip the legs to turn into shorts). I have the pants, got them at Wal-Mart for $25. I rode Splash Mountain wearing them, got completely soaked (thanks to the waterfall near the unload area) and was dry by the time I got to Haunted Mansion. That material is nice, because you can use the spray bottle to get the clothes wet, which helps cool, but they don't stay wet for long so you're not sloshing around.

I would also go on the DisAbilities board here to see about getting her a DAS card. They will give you a return time for the attraction, so rather than waiting if she is hot in line, you can find a nice shaded place to wait and stay cool!

Keep her hydrated , add a package of Drink Duets ( see site or face book) colorful water bottle ID tags

I would also suggest going to parks at rope drop, head back to the resort in the middle of the day when its hottttt and then head back to the park at dusk.

Frogg Togg chilly towel!! We use them at Disney and during DS football games in the fall here to cool off, they work great.

As another Floridian I second this I would not step outside my house in summer heat without it around my neck I'm not even talking about going to the parks I'm talking about just participating in daily life here The kind of dog days of summer when you step outside and feel like someone has wet a wool blanket and thrown it over your head :scared1:

The beauty of it too is you can cut them lengthwise and stretch your money You'd be surprised how many CMs and state troopers I know that are using them
