Summer/hot weather visitors....To Makeup or not to Makeup??

I noticed alot of women saying how bad they look without makeup. Don't sell yourselves short! I used to worry about it all the time when I was younger, but my husband has reminded me that he thinks I look much better and even younger without my makeup. I've gotten to the point I don't even wear it on the weekends (unless we are going out somewhere nice) as long as I have my hat, sunglasses and some sunscreen to protect my face. Since I have cut back my makeup use, I rarely have any issues with blemishes. I should've listened to my mother years ago when she told me these things! She's 60 and looks like she's in her mid-forties.:lmao:

Powder foundations are going to be your best bet. Along with eyeshadow primer if you're worried your eyeshadows will crease. Make sure you put sunscreen UNDER your foundation and use a foundation with a little SPF too. Not only will it prevent sun burnt skin but it will prevent sun damage on your face.

Bare minerals, waterproof mascara and oil blotting sheets :)

I second the oil blotting sheets!

I normally don't bring makeup to the parks to touch up (I normally try to travel as light as possible, and sometimes just bring my KTTW card, gift card/credit card, and ID in my back pocket), but like to carry oil blotting sheets since they're so compact. They help to keep sweat from ruining my makeup, particularly in my "t zone". Even if it fades, it doesn't end up looking gross like it might otherwise.

I use a bit of waterproof mascara and a light foundation with sunscreen. I have a tiny tube of the foundation and I take it with me. If I get all sweaty, it's refreshing to splash some water in my face and dry off in the bathroom and then apply a little of the foundation.

I am a NO make-up person!! I would look like a raccoon by noon! LOL:rotfl:

I always wear make-up. BB cream or tinted moisturizer (with spf), eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, mascara, and a tinted lip balm. My makeup has never melted on me. :goodvibes

I wore the exact same amount of make-up as you did for our last trip in Sept. I didn't have any melting problems either:goodvibes I say wear the make-up but hold off on foundation if you wear it. I would think this would be the big melter!:goodvibes

I never wear makeup at Disney. Between heat, rain, water rides, I just don't feel like it's worth the bother. It's my vacation, so I don't carry all that stuff with me, and save time getting ready in the mornings.

This, exactly!! :thumbsup2

I have a tinted moisturizer from Neutrogena that I love, and I think it would fit the bill perfectly (though I haven't tried it in FL yet). I use it everyday in the summer--it even has spf 20 or 30 in it.

Maybe a little blush, some (waterproof) mascara and some tinted lip balm (burts bees is fantastic) and you can strike a pose for the Photopass photographers :goodvibes

This is me, too, pretty much: Tinted moisturizer, some loose powder to keep the shine down, a sweep of blush, a little neutral eyeshadow, like taupe, some swipes of waterproof mascara, and some lip balm with an spf. I know the powder is an exercise in futility but at least I feel good when I go out the door. Now that DD is grown, we don't take pictures, so no worries there!

I like to wear a light foundation plus powder and waterproof mascara! It only takes minutes to do, but I feal so much more "put together"!:rotfl:

No makeup 365 days a year. At Disney I wear moisturizer with SPF, and chapstick. I will use a black eyeliner (Urban Decay 24/7) daily otherwise my eyes "disappear".

Never any at all????? I wish I could get away with doing that! I am not horribly old (43) but I have a few freckles I would like to cover and my face (and the rest of my body) is very fair so I like a bit of color. I cant do eyeliner though! Never learned how and when I try, it comes out looking like I went 10 rounds with Ali back in the day!:lmao:

Someone said Jergens? okay I have used the self tanner stuff on my legs - is this the same for your face? If I start using it at the beginning of the trip, will I look overly dark by the end? I dont want my body to be white and my face to look like the tanning mom who was recently in the news. :scared1: I dont want to spend a whole bunch of time, I get that, but I do feel (and look) better when I have a bit of SOMETHING on. I mean my hair will be in a ponytail and I will be wearing very casual shorts and tennis shoes - I dont want to go with nothing at all on my face and scare the small children at the parks!;)

Sounds like I need to make a trip to the drugstore soon!

I have some scarring from previous breakouts, so I always wear makeup just so that I don't feel self-conscious. For me, if I feel uncomfortable, I'm not going to enjoy myself, so I wear make-up to avoid that. I wish I had the skin to go bare, but I don't. I use Smashbox primer and Bare Minerals Matte foundation everyday, including on vacation. I also usually carry the Bare Minerals SPF 30 retractable brush in my bag for added SPF as I sweat and since its powder, it helps with shine. I usually wear some mascara, but I always wear sunglasses and don't mess with other eye makeup. Hair goes up in a hat.

I pay a little extra and get the good stuff for Disney World. Usually I just wear tinted moisturizer and waterproof mascara, bought from Merle Norman.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer spf 20, Waterproof Loreal Voluminous Mascara and Lip Balm with sunscreen. I always have oil blotting sheets, they are a girl's best friend!

I wear pretty much the same amount of makeup all year round unless it's a wedding or something out of the ordinary. Lipstick or lip balm, concealer or a bit of foundation under my eyes and waterproof mascara. So there's no heat/melting issues and I can hop in the pool no problem.
I also hardly do my hair at Disney and opt for a ponytail. Do I look the best I could? Yikes no!:rotfl: But I'm having so much fun I really don't care.
I do look at some of you and wonder how you manage to look so nice in the heat, humidity and rain. Now I know how:rotfl:

Along with eyeshadow primer if you're worried your eyeshadows will crease.

I agree with eyeshadow primer. I use it every day, but its very necessary at WDW. Or a cream eye shadow works good without primer. Benefit makes good cream eye shadows.

I second the oil blotting sheets!

Instead of oil blotting sheets, I will sometimes use toilet paper to blot my face. Same tissue-y feeling, but no cost and nothing to carry around :thumbsup2

I usually use liquid liner but when I use a pencil, I will use Urban Decay 24/7 liner or Make Up Forever liner - two pencils that stay put all day. And my favorite waterproof mascara is Dior.
