Summer/hot weather visitors....To Makeup or not to Makeup??

no make up! One less thing I have to worry about on vacation the better! Gets me ready and to the park that much quicker. I had never heard of the tinted sun block Im very interested in looking more into that!

No make-up... too many hours and too much hot for make up... but I do wear big sunglasses:3dglasses

I don't have the best skin (a little blotchy and with an occasional breakout), so foundation is a must every day, even at Disney. There, I will also wear mascara, blush, and tinted lip balm. In the summer heat at Disney, my makeup melts off a bit, but at least I look good for half the day!

I get a tan on my face;), mascara, and a pretty colored lip gloss/balm. In the evening I go with a darker lipstick.

This!!!! Our first day is Discovery Cove this year, so I'll have plenty of time to get the face tan going. After that, it's waterproof mascara and tinted lip balm all the way! :thumbsup2

Everytime I visit WDW in the summer I put on a little makeup so I dont look so terrible in photos. However by the time I leave the room and walk to the bus stop, I am sweating so profusely that all my makeup has puddled on my shoes!:lmao: Does anyone else have this issue? What do you so? Do they make tinted sunscreen or have you found some sort of secret formula that works and doesnt melt off your face like a popscicle in July?

When going to Disney World in the summer (or really any time), you don't dress or appear for style, you dress or appear for comfort. Leave the makeup at home and remember the good times, not what you looked like. There will be plenty of other days for all that stuff. You are on vacation.

I'm usually a full on make up girl. But, I plan to only use tinted moisturizer with SPF and lip gloss. I'm not even worrying about my hair this trip. Gonna try a sun hat. I'm very fair skinned so in the Florida heat and sun, protection and comfort is my main concern. I don't look that great without make up but I figure sunglasses will help in pictures.

I am using Garnier BB tinted moisturizer this summer. So far I have had awesome results. I will sometimes set it with a little powder if it is going to be super hot. However, I can put it on and nothing else and be fine or I can add eye make up and blush for a more finished look. It is really great. I am also extremely fair complected so it is hard to find a color match. I tried almay prior to this and it was way to dark (except when I came back from the beach :lmao:). I really like Urban Decay lip gloss with. :thumbsup2

I envy girls that can pull off make-up in the sweltering heat! We went to Busch Gardens (Williamsburg) last weekend, and while we were in line, I was amazed at how many women still wore make-up even though I was literally sweating my butt off! So needless to say, I will not be wearing any for our trip in August. Sunblock and spf chapstick are all that is going on this face :thumbsup2

I wear no makeup, hair back, a hat, and sunglasses. I am not willing to waste my time putting on makeup that just won't stay on my face. I end up looking worse with it on than I do without any at all.

Ditto!!

On our trip last August--I FORGOT my makeup!!! So--I was basically forced to not wear any--none sold on Disney property (that I could find anyway). It was so totally hot and humid that my shoulders and shins were sweating! I've never felt heat like that.
So, this time-in August 2012-I will only wear sunscreen on my face, mascara on my lashes and my long lasting lipstick. If I put this lipstick on at night, I wake up with it still there in the morning! It doesn't come off for anything-even 105 degree temps.

So--IMO--Just go with the mascara and lipstick route---nobody is looking at your complextion. The pics look better for you with your eyes and lips done at least.:confused3

Another vote for this one and it has sunscreen already in it. This stuff is just awesome, I don't even use foundation anymore.

Which long lasting lipstick are you using? I think I need some!

I see a few others mentioned bareMinerals, and I agree!

I am very fair skinned and all I used in Disney in July was bareMinerals spf 30 natural sunscreen on my face. It is a tinted powder, so I did not need additional powder or foundation. It prevented me from looking shiny in photos and I did not sweat it off. I re-applied every couple hours during the day and I did not burn.

I always wear make-up. BB cream or tinted moisturizer (with spf), eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, mascara, and a tinted lip balm. My makeup has never melted on me. :goodvibes

Bare minerals, a small amount of eye liner and tinted spf lip balm. No mascara, no lipstick, nothing heavy or that will get drippy.

Bare Minerals, waterproof Voluminous mascara, Sephora waterproof eye liner, and lipstick. The eye liner and lipstick come with me to the parks for touch-ups.

Sorry if I'm repeating things, didn't get to read all the replies!

I'm the type who won't leave the house without makeup  Many of the brands Sephora carries has a tinted moisturizer with SPF. I have a Laura Geller one that is pretty good. My problem with tinted moisturizer is that it makes my face look greasy and I have already oily skin. Plus with the sweat and humidity in the summer, you can see your reflection on my forehead  Because of that, I use a Clinique SPF moisturizer and then I just put on some translucent powder to control the shine. Then my face isn't bogged down with foundation all day, clogging my pores and what not. I also wear a little bit of eye shadow, liquid liner, and waterproof mascara and it held up well all day.

We go in September when its 90+ and very humid. With the Clinique SPF moisturizer... my face never got burned once! I was shocked!

i use tinted moisturizer with a GOOD waterproof mascara.

i'll also usually wear tinted lip balm.

I am going in august and plan to mix my face sunblock with my mineral makeup. I have done this for a few years now and it gets pretty humid where I live in the summer and it stays put pretty well. I probably won't bother with cheek or eye color but I will definitely take some Burts Bees lip shimmers.
