Summer Exchange thread (*cancelled* ~ next will be Halloween sign-ups in Sept)

I'm on the fence with this one right now. Let me get a better idea of how much money I'll have after paying this months yuckity yuck yuck bills and I'll let you know. It sounds like tons of fun though! I love summery stuff.

Me, too! It seemed like there was a lot of interest, but not many sign-ups at all.

There is still time.......we'll see how it goes.

I was just in Walmart today and saw tons of cute summer items! Makes me want to hit the beach, or at least a seaside resort.

I'm not going to be able to do this one, my brakes are making the most horrible sound you can imagine, so that's lots of money I need to save up to get them replaced. *sigh* I'm seriously getting tired of never having money anymore.

Sorry, about the brakes, Wendy. I hate car repairs. Our van is making a God-awful squeaking noise when it first starts up, and I don't even want to know why or how much it will cost to fix it!!!


Well, sign-ups end tomorrow and so far only 5 have signed up (and only one was for a kid), sooooo..........I think I'm going to cancel this one. Guess despite all those who said they wanted to do it, it just didn't pan out for one reason or another.

Sorry about that for those of you who sent me PMs. I love the exchanges, but this one I was okay with it going either way. I was only going to host it because at one point the interest seemed to be there. My favorite exchange is actually the Halloween one which I will be starting in mid September. THAT one I will not cancel even if I have to exchange with myself!!
I'm going to send a PM to the 5 who signed up letting them know.

That's too bad, but it's okay. I signed up for Laila since she's loves getting stuff in the mail, but she can wait until Halloween .

Yes, it is. But you know, before we started doing these get-to-know-you Diva group exchanges, I was a part of the exchanges that are on the DIS Community Board. That's where I first started hosting and participating in them. They are a lot of fun! And......they do a Halloween one!!
Check it out and see what they have going on now. Those exchanges are a lot bigger because they are open to any DISer. I'd get 40-50 sign-ups sometimes!!

Just be warned, they are addicting. One time, I was signed up for 5 different exchanges at once!!

That's a bummer that you had to cancel this one Beth. I know orig I said I was interested but between Shane being laid off so much this year and with 2 birthdays so close together (Shelby's in April and Shane's in May and then our trip in 2 week's it is just a lot). I am REALLY hoping that by the time the next one comes around I am in a better position and can FINALLY participate. I just love doing these and have missed doing the last few!! It REALLY makes your day to get a package and I love shopping for my person as well!

No worries, Kelly! It's fine. Like I said, my favorite one is actually Halloween, so anything else is just a bonus.
And the exchanges are supposed to be just a fun little thing to do to keep the connections going in the group until the next trip. But if anyone is struggling financially, that takes the fun out of it, so it is better to skip it if that's the case. Next time.
