Hi All-

We were booked on the 7/25 Fantasy. I found myself becoming more and more worried about what would happen/what might happen/what could conceivably happen, etc.- and feeling like things were spinning out of control (this was the proverbial straw.) Any way, as a type A individual, I find lack of control difficult to accept. That said, we went ahead and changed our cruise to the 12/19 Fantasy and will now get to see Christmas on the cruise! I want to thank everyone for sharing their thoughts and ideas as your commentary over the last three weeks has been invaluable. For those of you who have the same situational anxiety, I highly recommend grabbing the bull by the horns to regain a sense of equilibrium. For those of you who are unable to the same (for whatever reason,) I wish you the best and hope things resolve sooner rather than later.

I'm so glad you're feeling better! Keep dreaming of that cruise. We'll cruise on the Dream in December and are looking forward to it, as well. All of this craziness really has had me longing to get away to Castaway Cay. We'll really feel better, once we get there!

We are currently booked on that 7/25 Fantasy sailing, and I’m seriously considering switching to the 12/19 sailing instead. What helped you make the decision?

We are booked on the June 26 9 day Fantasy cruise. Still holding Out hope. I’d be happy if the ship had nothing but sea days. we’ve been to all the ports but we just like the longer cruises. Once onboard we wanted to sign up for the 2021 eastern bound transatlantic in may 2021.

we were going to aulani on may 11. Just cancelled that yesterday and moved it to September.

We are booked on that same cruise but we havent been to all the ports. Hoping it goes but would be just as happy to have our money back at this point as well.

We were scheduled on a non-DCL cruise departing Vancouver 7/27. We canceled due to the fear of being quarantined on or off the ship for two weeks post cruise, and all three of us needed to be at work two days after docking. Can't take the risk.

Under the new CDC order, I think June cruises are a hard stop no. The requirements to sail are such that there is no possible way Disney can have a fully crewed ship, embark crew and passengers, and sail.

Just curious why folks think December is better than July? Do you think there will be a vaccine by then? We have some flight credit I'd love to be able to use up for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but I keep worrying about the disease being seasonal and coming back stronger when the weather cools off like the 1918 spanish flu did.

I'm hoping our 7/27 cruise is canceled. We are PIF (concierge) and would lose a sizable amount of money if we cancel ourselves.

Given the fact that people are literally still stuck on cruises right now, I couldn't comfortably take my family on a cruise any time in 2020. Even if COVID has calmed down in the general public, if it breaks out on a cruise like other bugs do all the time, you are risking quarantine again. Each to his own and best of luck to those that brave it this year. Im glad there are those who still have interest to keep the industry going.

We even cancelled our April 2021 cruise(rebooked from June 2020) just so we can take a wait and see approach.

I'm not comfortable going on our cruise either. I'm just playing chicken waiting for DCL to cancel before me.

Which CDC order? There are so many things out there that I never know which official organization has said what anymore.

Hi There-

I'm sorry I am just seeing this. The decision was made by the fact that I have a hard time not knowing what to expect. Some people are great at flying by the seat of their pants; I am not one of those people. I had so much anxiety related to whether or not we would be able to go in July that it was impacting me significantly. My husband, thankfully, understands this about me and realized that all of my alternate plans (I was pricing out other cruises, figuring out when we could go, etc.) were my way of coping with the uncertainty. The problem was that the coping wasn't really helping. I was feeling more and more adrift and he (husband) said he thought we should just change the cruise to Christmas to help me relax. It worked, thankfully, and I am feeling much better.

I am also extremely excited to sail over Christmas as it was something I never thought we'd be able to do due to price. The difference in price was only about $2500 over what we'd already paid and it was sort of like the boiling a frog euphemism; if you start low, you don't really feel it as it gets higher and higher! As my husband says, the money was already spent on the July cruise, so the Christmas cruise is only $2500 ("Practically free!")

I wish you luck as you make your decision. I know it's a disappointment to be so close and then to change it to a later date, but you have to do what works best for you.

I'm a teacher so time is limited. Christmas is the next time I will have an extended time period off. I don't think there will be a vaccine necessarily, but I am done staying home and it's mid-April! I'm still following recommendations and only going out as necessary but I am not going to live my life as a hermit. If the ship is sailing (and we're healthy,) we'll be on it.

I’m with you! We are booked on the July 1 and all the uncertainty was driving me crazy. We were going to hold out and maybe get the extra 25% and book a week long Thanksgiving Cruise, but decided to do the 4 night instead. I was also constantly pricing and planning plans A-E! It’s even a little cheaper than July 1, works well with our schedules (teacher here too). I’m feeling so much better now that we’ve decided. I’m just waiting to hear back from TA that’s it’s been switched and then changing the airfare.

We're booked on the July 25 Fantasy too. Kids are too young (nephews are coming too) to cruise over Christmas and not be home for Santa. Basically, the next time we could go is April 2021... so we're just going to keep hoping!
