Summer Concert Series Lineup Announced

I'd love to see Pitbull but that's Harry Potter's opening weekend.

What happens when the garages are full?

not many people stay the whole day

The concerts are @9pm except for jly 3rd @8

even when I'd show up for mardis gras at night there are a flood of people leaving

But that's before WWoHP opens...I think it's going to be a lot worse than any Mardi Gras crowd.

I would LOVE to see REO Speedwagon :cloud9:

One of "my" karaoke songs is Take it on the Run.

I`m sure they would be horrified if they heard my rendition................but I love it :cool2:

how does this work we have tickets for the parks and are planning on being there on the 3rd july do we need to buy more tickets to see the concert?

Nope it's part of the admission to universal studios

the concert stage is outside next to rockit and all that

I agree with Dark Marauder - sounds like an incredible line up and I have a feeling we'll be heading over most weekends for the concerts.

I guess with Harry opening in IOA, they wanted a good line up get people into the Studios too.

Agree ::yes::::yes::::yes::

I'm deff there for the Benatar and Speedwagon on the 3'rd and Rob Thomas on the 10'th.I got it penciled in on my calender already!!!:thumbsup2

I like the line up better than Mardi Gras. I would see Train, Rob Thomas, and Counting Crows.. the only one I would have seen for Mardi Gras was Sheryl Crow but I didn't make it to that show.

I saw Pat Benatar at Busch Gardens during the Bands,Brew and BBQ and she was great.I agree that it's a great lineup but I've never been a huge fan of seeing concerts on the Universal stage even after it was refurbished. It's just so crowded and packed in there and unless you're camping out for 4 hours or more before the show, like I did for Chicago a couple of weeks ago,it's impossible to get a good view.At Epcot for the concerts during the festivals you might have to stand in line for an hour to get a great seat right near the stage or you can even show up 15-20 minutes before the concert and still get a seat, that's the key you're sitting. At Busch Gardens in their Gwazi park stage they have seats if you get there first and a grass berm where you can plop down and see the show,I think it's a great set up as they even have bathrooms and snack stands right there by the seats. One date I can't imagine myself attending is that June 19th Pitbull concert, can you say madhouse,Harry Potter grand opening and Pitbull.I guarantee you it'll be worse than one time I was there for Ne-Yo where we literally were stuck without being able to move for 15-20 minutes, and we weren't even by the stage to see the show.We were standing back behind the Monsters cafe and had to try and figure out a way to go back towards the interior of the park as moving anywhere towards the stage was futile.

Great kickoff to the summer concert series! Train put on an amazing show. I still have the same complaints that I had before (when comparing to concerts from previous years) - don't like the barriers throughout-I've been to concerts many places at big open areas and universal is the only one I've seen do this which really minimizes a lot of available crowd space, don't like the locations of the food, drink..they are straight on from stage where it would be a great viewing location..so now not only can you not stand there, you have to try to go around a long line of people trying to buy drinks..i also dont' like the permanent food/merch booths on the corners (who really buys rockit merch anyway)..i used to stand in this area in years past and had a great view away from the mass of crowd..now you have to watch on screens and the sound isn't the best in this area..don't like the permanent sound mixer area.again just taking away more room to watch the show..also dont like the palm trees lining the side.. i tried to stand on the side but was hard to see w/ the trees in the way..

Is there anything you do like?

Anyways it seemed more lax last night versus the majority of Mardis GRAS. I think there were less people around too

I like the concert itself, I just hate the setup like the other poster. and yes, I agree there was a lot less people than other concerts I've been to there. Good luck to people going to Pitbull.

Oh, Pitbull is gonna be an adventure for sure! If we go, we won't even try to go near the stage area - I just think it will be too crowded. We'll just watch the video screens from over by the Shrek exit.

If I have to watch video screens for a concert, I'd rather not even go. I watch concerts all the time on hd music channels from the comfort of my couch. Universal just took out a lot of available viewing space and added video screens and thinks that's fine. Its the same reason why I don't go to arena shows unless I can get good seats.

You guys are lucky. I'd love to see the Counting Crows or Train.

Boo since we usually go in June but thanks to my job we have to wait until August. August is strangely devoid of special events at all the parks!
