I'm considering bidding on a listing on Skyauction for a 2br condo/villa. It gives you a week at your choice of Summer Bay or Silver Lake. Can anyone give me any feedback on the merits/drawbacks of either of these? From what I can tell, Summer Bay looks like it has way more amenities, but Silver Lake looks closer to Disney and I like the layout of the rooms better. Last year we stayed at Cypress Pointe in a 2br and really liked it, so I'm also wondering how Summer Bay/Silver Lake compare to Cypress Pointe. I don't want to take a step backwards, if you know what I mean.

Silver Lake is much closer to the WDW property. We were at the Animal Kingdom parking lot in 2 minutes, and it wasn't much longer to Epcot & MGM.

I don't know anything about Summer Bay, except it's farther out 192.

Silver Lake is a nice property. We enjoyed our stay there.

We've stayed at both Silver Lake and Cypress Pointe - we preferred Silver Lake. We were happier with the rooms and thought the beds were more comfortable. Also liked the drive to the parks more from Silver Lake. We were further away from the pool/snack bar area rather than being able to walk right out the condo door as we could at Cypress Pointe, but still would prefer Silver Lake.

I prefer Summer bay, because of the extra amenities. If you never plan to swim or take part in the activities though, then go for Silver lake and you will save about 10 minutes drive time each way.
