Can someone answer me this? Is it *normal* to go shopping with your kids and all they have on are their bathing suits and flip flops? (I'm talking Target here - no big deal.) I dunno - just found it odd to see an 8/9 year old girl walking around the store with just her bathingsuit on.

yeah, i think that's a little odd.

btw, i LOVe your new picture. your doggie is adorable. :goodvibes

absolutely not. Saw a first the other day-- a woman shopping in her bikini bottom and sports bra.

Inappropriate.

Stopping in a quicky mart in said attire while at or en route to or from the beach--okay. So the wal-mart is across the street from the beach. She was shopping in the clothing section.

I guess it was laundry day and shopping was easier?

I think just to teach the kid how to dress properly in public, they should have thrown some shorts on her at least.

I think its odd, I saw this at blockbuster last month.

ok - even if I was coming from/going to the beach...I would feel TOTALLY uncomfortable running into 7-11 with just shorts and a bikini top on! (I would just throw a tank top over it...or wear a terry-cloth cover up.)

More power to these people who are "comfortable" enough to sport these fashions outside their backyard/beach...but I find it inappropriate.

Completely inappropriate. It's not that hard to throw shorts and a t-shirt over a bathing suit. If the suit was wet, she should not have had them shopping anyway.

Not normal...at least not for my 9 year old. Besides, she'd die before she'd go to the store like that.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, if its a once piece with shorts on. I've often thrown on a pair of shorts and run down to the store.

Me to--I'm just saying...for a quick stop .... not as big a deal--for a destination stop...by all means, cover up ;).

The lady with bikini butt--though I do wish my legs and butt looked like hers.....really didn't need to be wearing just that to Wal-Mart.

I'm a hop from the beach--so I wouldn't be caught dead in just a swimsuit at a place of business. EVER.

No way! SInce I'm so pale I don't even like wearing SHORTS in public. I know, I'm letting pressures of society get to me.

I remember the World's Fair when I was 9--there was supposed to be a water attraction. I had worn just a swimsuit and shorts. The attraction was broken...I felt like the biggest moron in just the swim suit in shorts....kept trying to get the butt part of the swimsuit to peak out over my shorts so I "looked" like I was wearing a shirt. I was  over the bare back and lack of a visible border aside from my shorts.

I fired an office staff member for wearing a sports bra to work. :sad2:

I just saw this last Saturday. A woman was in the grocery store with a cart full of food and her kids were in bathing suits. I just looked at her thinking lady, you've got to be kidding. We don't live anywhere near the beach so I presume they were on the way home from a pool party or somethin.

are you kidding me? she actually thought a sports bra was a 'good thing" to wear to an OFFICE?

we're business casual here. Allowed open toe shoes or dressy flip flops. Capris are also fine. I kinda "push" the limit with sleeveless shirts...however I always have a cardigan to cover up with if asked. (I'm a programmer - I leave my desk to hit the ladies room or the kitchen!) But never, EVER would I wear a sports bra out in public unless I was actually exercising/participating in a sport!

some people...

Well.. im hawaii it is somewhat appropirate. As long as you have shorts or whatever..

Example:

Mom picks me up from swimming and we go to the store, for dinner instead of making extra trips (Gas is most expensive in the nation here). It is 90 degress so I cant sit in the car, I have shorts and a swim suit on.. Do I go inside to safeway for 5 min. Yesh.. cause I have shorts..Everyone runs around in bikini tops here

ok - you live in a place surrounded by water.
it's a 1.5 hour drive to the shore from the Target I was in when I saw this! heheh

big dif!

I can see wearing shorts or a long tee shirt over a bathign suit...but I'm talking JUST wearing a bathing suit.
