Summer AP Discounts announced April 20th

If someone has the time could you check the rates for the Boardwalk for June 26 - July 5? I just called Disney and the CM told me they weren't out yet. Thanks so much. We had planned on driving across country to DL but with gas prices that is pretty much out. Thanks again.

I couldn't get those dates to appear with the PH rate either.

Am I correct in my assumption that I won't see September rates until at least August? We are going Sep 12 and are currently booked with the recent 40% Deluxe GP rate. However, we really want to add dining, and I was told that to add dining, we would have to have booked under an AP discount. i'm willing to take a 30-35% rate if it means we can add DDP.

Thanks!

You can add dining; you just have to buy a 1 day ticket (if it's not free dining) for everyone in the room. If you're planning on renewing your AP, you can then use the value of that ticket against the renewal, or you can just use it in the future as a regular ticket.

I'm not seeing a huge difference between the AP discount and the general public discount. Kind of disappointed. It used to be having an AP made a difference...I'm rethinking renewing it at this point. I mostly have it so as to get a decent room discount. If they're gonna offer the same discount as a public discount, there doesn't seem much point to spending the extra bucks on an AP.

Still nobody's heard anything about AP discounts for the end of Aug? I'm waiting for discount dates to book my exact dates. If anyone heard anything please let me know. Thanks!

I was surprised I actually was able to save $200.00 over the GP rates this time. My last three stays in WDW were one booked with the GP rate and two stays booked with an online travel web site because Disney didn't offer discounts for my dates but the online travel sites did.

It seems the AP room rates of the past are no more. It is still worth the price for all year admission to the parks (if you are lucky enough to get that much time off from work) and the TIW card. I would not puchase a AP for the sole purpose of room discounts. If this was 5 years ago, it would be a different story.

According to this chart at mousesavers: http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codetrends

Late August and September AP discounts were released on 6/18/08 and on June 24 in both 2009 and 2010, so I'd venture to say this year's discounts will be announced in mid to late June.

Thanks, beautifultomorrow. I forgot that Mousesavers has that chart. We'll be at WDW at the beginning of June as well, so hopefully when we get back, we'll hear some good news! (Though I will probably check while I'm there, too!)

Just got off the phone with Dis about purchasing AP's for a December trip. The CM said the new AP rates for fall will come out around August 13th!

If you'll be there in June, you should be able to book a bounceback that could be better than the AP rate.

Hmm, that may be cutting it close (we are booked for Sep 12 now). Thanks for the info though!

But the bounceback wouldn't be an AP rate, and I'm hoping for an AP rate because then we wouldn't ahve to add extra tickets to our room to add the Dining Plan. Right now we are booked on a General Public rate. I was told that I would have to add one-day tix to that rate to add the DDP. If I have an AP rate, no extra tickets needed to add DDP. It would save us about $300.
