Seeking advice- we've been planning a trip with our best friends for 2018 and now that it's coming up we need to figure out the nitty gritty details.

It will be 4 adults and 4 kids. Ages at the time of the cruise will be 11,9,6 and 2.5.

We're looking at a 7 night EB or WB Carribean and would prefer the magic or wonder but are open.

What I'm looking for specifically is advice on the best options for cabins? What are our options with a group of our size? Connecting? Next door? Potentially we'd like verandah/navigators verandah but more realistically ocean view. All the kids are theirs but we know we'll likely end up with-2 with us and we're totally fine on whatever arrangement to make pricing the best.

Beyond that what floor/side would you suggest? My husband and I did a 5 night Bahamian on the wonder in 2014 and were in cabin 7612 and loved it!

A couple details that may be helpful: 3 of us are silver castaway club members, they're active military and we're looking to go around the first week of June.

Any other helpful advice is greatly appreciated

For summer you are looking at the Fantasy. The Magic goes to Europe and the Wonder to Alaska.

There are both connecting cabins and next door or across the hall.

Most people seem to like starboard so you can see the developed side of CC. I prefer port because I find the undeveloped side prettier and less busy.

How about a verandah with an inside room? Then you all could have access to a verandah, but the kids can sleep in the inside room.

So there's you 2 adults, and 2 adults & 4 children in the other family? Not sure if all the adults want to share a room, but you could book 2 rooms 2A2C in each, but actually have the adults sleep in one room and the kids sleep in the other. OR, each set of adults could have their own room, and the kids could have their room (3 rooms total). You'd have to book at least one adult in each room, but, as before, you can actually rearrange where everyone sleeps.

I'm going to assume you'll end up with the two oldest in your room. Connecting rooms would probably be the best. Question, though, will they want the 6 year old on a bunk bed? Will the 2.5 year old be sleeping in the bottom bunk or in a play pen? I'm asking about the bunk, because if they aren't comfortable with two of the kids in bunks (one in your room and one in theirs), you may have to look for a room with a murphy bed that sleeps 5. Or, if the two oldest don't mind the top bunk, you may get the 11 year old and the 6 year old in your room.

Also, if you do decide on the family oceanview (with or without the verandah), not all have that 5th murphy bed. In fact, it almost seems like the connecting rooms have one with and one without. So know your sleeping plans before you book.

Another thing to consider with the other family is where on the ship you like - forward, mid or aft and how high up. We wanted to be close to the pool and Cabanas, but others like being lower down.

I've heard fireworks are generally off the starboard side, but you're not supposed to watch from your balcony, but it might also be a consideration.
