DCL must be close to posting itineraries. They actually have up to September on the website but when I tried to search July 2017 Caribbean it came back with an error.

It must be soon... I went on earlier today and the summer months weren't even showing up in the home page dropdown like this (but they showed up, greyed out, in the "find a cruise" search page). Now they're showing up for me as well!

Mine didn't show up in Chrome initially because of cookies. I took the screenshot in IE because they were showing up there. Might be that your cookies refreshed and voila!

we are going on a cruise in May. If I'm considering summer 2017, should I book something the day they open up itineraries or wait for OBB? Will the rates change too much between now (next week) and then?

The website won't be active for pricing for at least 48 hours. I assume the earliest would be Monday.

They need to announce itineraries to TAs, make a public announcement, and allow for a day where only phone booking is available to cruisers with status.

This means it would really be Tuesday before it was ready to go. I'd be surprised if they did early booking on a Saturday or Sunday.

It really depends on how popular the cruise you want to book is. Prices on some go up immediately, while others don't for months. Your best bet is to book opening day and then reshop once on board. If the rate is the same or hasn't gone up enough that the 10% off and OBB credit make it cheaper than what you already have, you can book a new reservation and cancel your old reservation when you get back on land.

If they were smart, they would release itineraries tomorrow, let people stew over them over the weekend with their families celebrating Easter, and then have everyone ready to jump on the bookings on Mon/Tues.

I've never planned this far in advance for a Disney cruise, so I'm not sure whether I need to obsessively hover on the website/discussion boards or if I'll get an email.

Just check in here daily, the boards will explode when word gets out. I've never received an email from DCL, we all do their marketing for them!

Sometimes I have gotten emails from DCL, sometimes not... the way it goes for me is I see it here, then I get an email from my TA, then maybe I'll get one from DCL later that day or the next day.
