Very happy that I booked a FREE DINING PLAN bounceback for June when we stayed back in September. I get the whole dining plan for free too not just a meal. LOL. Hahahaha

I'm thinking this is the ease in from a Free Dinning offer to a Free meal. This is a test the waters offer for a new type of free.
We might see 1 free table service in the fall offers . I hope not but this is what Disney does.

I am sure that there will also be a room only deal. I see no down side to this offer. We wouldn't use it because we have APs, but I can see the value for most families who stay Value in the summer.

Yes, a drink and dessert or you can substitute for two sides. Nobody will know what the fd bb will look like until this summer.

Last September's free dining bounceback included one week at the end of May/beginning of June and then late August to early October.

I asked on another thread - we are doing a split stay... 4 days Pop, 6 days AKL. Could I get this package for the 4 days at Pop and use the tickets we get during the 6 day at AKL?

Yes, the tickets you get with a package can be used any time, just like tickets purchased any other way. If you want to use them later, just use them later. Are you not visiting the theme parks on the first 4 days, or are you using other tickets for those days?

That will work fine; as long as you use all the days before 14 days have elapsed from the first use, you're good to go.

Perfect! If we decided to not use any during our Pop stay, and instead both days during our AKL portion, that would still be ok, too, correct? Just not sure if the first day has to be used during the package portion. I feel like such a noob

No problem; you can wait as long as you want to start using it (years, decades...). The 14-day countdown doesn't start until you enter a park with the ticket.

I guess I'm in the minority, and I think this is a pretty good deal! We are usually January or September travelers with free dining or at least Stay Plan and Dine discounts. The kids didn't want to miss a week of school this year, so we're going May 28-June 4 thinking we wouldn't have ANY discounts. I was thrilled with the 25% off at Pop, and the free QS meal would actually save even a little bit more BUT it starts the day after we check in. Factor in 2 separate reservations, only 6 free meals per person vs. 7...not worth the hassle to switch. However, if they expand the dates, I'm all over it!

I looked into this, as I was mistaken thinking at first it was free QSDP (DD and I are planning on last two weeks of August and probably at Pop again).

For just the two of us, it was not a deal.

We may use Starpoints and stay at the Swan if a better discount (or free QSDP for values) doesn't come out. We have AP's but would save tickets for next year if needed. We just want one more mom/daughter trip late summer when the crowds are low & while we can get away before she's off to college.

I find the one meal a day a joke.

I know some people find this offer laughable, but we never stay onsite and were planning to go in June this year...with this offer, I'm looking at staying onsite now. It's not a fantastic deal, but it is one that will work for us. There are several "counter service" places that will make this worthwhile because we tend to eat at the more "expensive" counter service places already. I checked the list of "counter service" restaurants and it is enormous. I didn't book, yet, but I am seriously tempted.

The summer meal deal saved us $800 for our family of 4 adults and 2Disney adults (10 & 12) on an 8 day stay at Art of Animation Nemo suite. We always get the dining plan which makes this a better deal for us than a room discount.
