Summer, 2005 DCL Ressies - Best procedure to book on May 5th?

Just my guess, but make sure your phone is set to speed dial!!!

Thanks Andy! I agree about the speed dial.

We went through Costco for our upcoming Disney cruise (6/12).

So, should we find a travel agent or go through DCL directly? Doubt we could even get in quickly to Costco.

Hoping to get the week after dd gets out of school. She has a break from summer school at that time and the weather here is cooler than in August. (live in the sunny state, right by the Queen Mary!)

(dd has dyslexia so she always need to attend summer school, the dear sweet daughter she is!)

OK, THANKS! And, prayers and best wishes for your surgery!!!

Let's assume that a Disney executive at the May 5 Disneyland event announces that the Disney Magic will part of Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration. That doesn't mean that bookings will begin 30 seconds later. In fact, it's unlikely that most DCL employees will even hear the details until the day of the announcement.

More likely, they'll allow a few days to get the word out to travel agents, to update the DCL website, to allow other online cruise booking sites to be updated, to train the DCL customer service staff, and for the full press release to be incorporated in newspaper articles.

I have no idea if that would mean May 7 or May 12 or some other date. But, I'm not expecting May 5.

Of course, I could be wrong.

I'm hoping they wait until at least the 8th to start taking bookings (See my countdown clock). I plan on re-booking on the cruise anyway so hopefully will be able to pick the actual dates as well. - Mike

Mike - You will have to post at least once on the cruise and let us know what the itineraries are - And - the $$$$$$$$$$$

If the info is available, this will be the first place I will post it. This site has been wonderful in providing me such useful information, it would be a shame for me not to give something back. - Mike

"IF" they open the reservations for the
repositioning cruise on May 5/04 after
the announcement then you could

1) DCL - 800-511-1333 (make your
reservation and then contact a travel
agent to see if they might have a better
rate) but at least you could grab the
cabin you might want.

2) Call your travel agent and get on
a wish list now!!! Give names, and
credit card and category that you authorize
your agent of choice to try and grab the
space when it opens. We have already
started taking names and it seems to
be working fine. I guess we will know
for sure early May :)

For one thing, you can always book now
and put a deposit down and hold a cabin
of your choice. For now, there is no
penalty to cancel before your final balance
due date and get a full refund if you have
something come up and you can not go......

Hopefully there will be some great rates
for the first group that books. Then usually
if the cruise line sees the space filling they
raise the price. So YES BOOK EARLY!!!

Hope this helps

Dana :)
