summer 2005 dates

Its all very confusing will it go will it stay, I did say if it went to California the secret wouldnt be able to be kept and people in the ports, police etc would let the secret out, and possiblly a leak might have occured on previous posts,

Suppose we will need to see a few more leaked secrets before we know where it is going.

Noticing the comments on 'other' trips Suez Canel etc.

I thought on April 1st (but someone beat me to it) To say the Magic would sail from London to Paris up Le seine, and port just outside Disneyland paris. On its way it would have a day at Southend on sea and tie up on its mile long pier.

Now the UK readers will be having a laugh at this point, knowing Southend (whilst nice) is not Casterway Cay, and the Magic wouldnt fit up the Seine, and lastly Disneyland paris is outside Paris, not on the Seine.

For our freinds in USA call DCL and see if they are interested, they might try it if Disneyland California doesnt work!

Just think instead of the disney trams, the pier train, instead of cookies BBQ the beach hut, and instead of the castaway familiy beach, the........well....they have imported sand to Southend now!(FROM B&Q)

Previous posts question if DCL read these posts I might be giving them ideas as an alternative for California.

Who says they do not know what cruisers take off the ship, our cruise director told us about the Disney snifer dogs that smell your laugage and can tell how many mickey soaps and small bath towels you have inside!! They found that out here!
Anyway back to the subject:-

I VOTE FOR THE MAGIC TO STAY IN THE CARRIBEAN ON A 10 DAY CRUISE INLCUDING ST LUCIA AND MARTINQUE! ANNOUCE IT NOW!!

That sounds good to me too.

I still want 7 day caribbeans, but that's just me. My wedding is in July '05 in Vegas, we're spending a week in the Anahem area right after to spend time with his family (and go to Disneyland, we'll be there for the 50th) and then we're off to honeymoon at WDW and DCL. I've always wanted to do the 7 day western. Right now we're booked for the 4 day and will change our reservation if they come out with a 7 day that fits our schedule/budget.

And yes, I'll be doing DL, WDW and DCL all within 2 weeks of each other! Insane, isn't it?

I just love you Brits!!!!!

It's not insane, it's a way of life!!!! Have a great time, I'm jelous!!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

And we love our USA freinds too!

Has anyone herd any more about this 'DCL TOWN HALL ' Meeting, someone said there was a meeting for the staff this week and that often is just before a big annoucement to inform their staff.

Still dreaming of ;-
10 DAY MAGIC CRUISE IN THE CARRIBEAN IN AUGUST 2005:sunny:
Or a European DCL cruise Port of London, past the tower and docklands, Stop at Lakeside, for a bit of 'outlet' shopping, Southend on sea, ( like CASTERWAY cay, but different), and then off to Paris, past the Eiffel Tower to Disneyland Paris.

If not then California!:jester:

We found out that they do read these boards and become familiar with many of the posters from them. A lot of the ideas and suggestions are implimented and the comments noted (good and bad).

Wow! That's pretty cool. We all need to be sure were truthful when we talk about our experiences, likes & dislikes.

I think it would be a realy good source of market research for DCL to read these posts, for example there is a 'hunger' for trips to California and new trips around the carribean, and longer trips such as 10 days plus.

Anyone herd anyomre about this DCL Town hall meeting this week, a post said they contacted DCL and there was a meeting, which often 'preludes' an annoucement.

Still dreaming of a 10 day carribean cruises in August 2005.

Take it from me, DCL higher ups, do look at the DISboards, and comments, good or bad, are taken into consideration.

That's good advise for us for our everyday lives also.

I wish everyone the best of luck with the summer 2005 dates, it will be interesting to see exactly what pans out as true and what's been circulating as a rumor.

Someday we will do a repositioning cruise with a cruise line that is already making the trip, but we sure wished it could have been with Disney.

Still I hope for an annoucement soon, If they are reading this, please please put us out of our misery and announce!

The closer it gets to May 5 without an announcement of new summer 2005 itineraries out of Port Canaveral, the more I believe the rumor that the Disney Magic is "going to Disneyland" in summer 2005.

May 5 is supposedly still the date for the press event to announce the plans for Disneyland's 50th anniversary.

You might well be right that's why I am crossing my fingers for an announcement earlier.

There are a lot of pros and cons;-

FOR

Timing of the Magic 'gap' in months
DL 's 50th.
Some rumours of sharing a port.
Did I see a DCL official being appointed a 'west cost executive?
People seeing or hearing comments from radio.
West costers have missed out so far.
Test the water for 3rd DCL Ship.
Press comments do not rule out.

AGAINST

Cash risk?
Extra cost Panama cannel Fuel
Disappointment of 7 Day Caribbean cruisers
Support staff DCL Displaced
Less use of castaway cay.
Press comments do not rule out.
DCL did say PC is there year round port.
The missing dates are on the DCL website under 7 day carribean cruises.
The time frame makes it too easy to tie the two events together.

THE MISSING DATES;-

If you go to the DCL website, and select.

RATES, DATES> 7 DAY CARRIBEAN CRUISES> GO DOWN TO 2005 DATES.

Under this they have updated the dates to include 2005, each month.

Under this section it now says TBA to be annouced. Plus above there is a one line sentance saying. ' Dates for May to August are to be annouced'.

Now I might be reading too much into this, but why put 'TBA ' under ''seven day carribean cruises'' if they are not going to be in the ''carribean''.

They have headings for ''10 day cruises'' ( the christmas one) and ''Special Cruises'' either could have TBA, against them.

It would imply at this time they will be in the Carribean, but nothing is confirmed until they make a formal annoucement.

Are there any other cruise lines that have not yet announced their summer dates/rates yet?

RCCL just announced theirs for May, 05 and beyond on or about 27 March. Carnival just announed theirs a couple of weeks earlier than that. I haven't looked at Celebrity or HAL the last month or so but as of a little over a month ago they also had not announed their Caribbean rates though they are actually the same overall company as Carnival (HAL) and RCCL (Celebrity). So this has led me to believe there were common factors for all cruise lines and nothing specific to DCL. We shall see.
