Was on the disney website looking at "attractions" to put into my itinerary.... and Sum of All Thrills wasn't listed. Is it closed or closing? Has anyone heard?

Thanks

We just rode it two weeks ago.
I looked in MDE and it's listed under Innovations, but it doesn't have it's own listing to "favorite".

Can someone tell me - is this different from cyberspace mountain at DisneyQuest? The description sounds similar (build roller coaster then ride it in a simulator), but I get the impression there's some difference?

I read on another site that Sum of All Thrills was closing the end of May. Is that not true?

I was planning on riding during a June visit but assumed it would be gone before I arrive.

I read an article from Theme Park Review that speculated that it will be closing next week.

I always see wonderful remarks for this. I must be the only person on earth that totally didn't get this attraction. It's all simulated and didn't seem remotely real to me. Or fun. And I love coasters.
Though actually DGD must not have been all that impressed either. She's never asked to return.

It's similar in what it is. I think Cyber SM is superior. Sum has seats on big arms that move so you are actually flying through the air. Whereas CSM you are fixed and the car spins and rotates. I think the video graphics are pretty poor on Sum. My son loves Sum but I won't miss the ride. Or Grace and Spence.

I heard end of June, I hope that's true and not the end of May!

The Dis Daily Fix reported last week that it could be closing because ride replays can only be accessed until June 30th. Here is the video:

Maybe Disney will be buying the rights to Sccoby Doo, they would go great in Epcot since so much of it is like an abandoned amusement park already.

there is more to do at HS with half the park closed than Epcot. Unless you are a big drinker and/or eater, there is so little to do.

The graphics on both are really dated at this point. Honestly, the loss of Sum of All Thrills isn't a big deal to me, as long as they replace it with something else. I think they should look into one of these new VR experiences that are way beyond anything at DisneyQuest. With how hot that's getting it shouldn't be that hard to get a company to sponsor it. It'd basically be a demo for their product. That is is the true spirit of Innoventions.

Innoventions reminds me of a strip mall where the landlord non-renews leases one at a time until the entire plaza is empty so that it can be completely redone. SoAT seems to be the latest tenant to get the boot. There is obviously a long term plan in place to do something spectacular with that space, just as we saw with The Wonders of Life Pavilion and the second floor of the Imagination Pavilion.
