Just got upgraded to Cabins 8600 and 8602 on the Wonder for an Oct 9th 3day. Has anyone stayed in those suites that can tell me about them? I am really psyched about the porches and the location. THe size and shapes are odd because of the aft location and does that adjacent stairway go straight into the Topsider? Help?

We stayed in 8602 a few years ago. The room is fabulous. Our neighbors was Cheese Please and his wonderful wife. Our room had two bathrooms. One bathroom had a large tub, but not a jacuzzi. This is because it is handicapp accesible, they needed the extra room to create a roll-in shower. Seems like CheesePlease's room had showers in both bathrooms.

My favorite thing was the veranda. It was large enough to hold a football team. In addition to the chairs, you will have lounge chairs and a full size table. The table is awesome. We had room service deliver breakfast to the veranda.

The one downside is that everyone can see you on the veranda from topsiders/beach blanket buffet. In addition, you can hear them move the chairs above you when they are preparing for breakfast.

As for the stairs - yes they do go to topsiders.

Thanks for the info. Is the Topsider view from an open rail situation above...like lean over and look down...or is it a window and table kind of view...like sort of indirect and you have to try to look...that will be interesting! I guess we will make use of the Mickey robes and be on our best behavior.

Did you use the conceirge service much? I have read the other active concierge threads and opinions vary widely.

As I recall, anyone standing at the railing at Topsider has pretty much a direct view of the verandahs of cabins 8602 and 8102.... all they have to do is look down.

Yes the entire deck can be seen by people at Topsiders. You will need those Mickey robes. Which by the way are very comfy. They will be in your walk-in closet.

We did use the conceirge to make all our ressies. Plus she brought us gifts through the cruise. Chocolate covered strawberries one day. Flowers another. Also I highly recommend being nice to your conceirge. Sometimes it can lead to an "invitation to dinner." I don't think everyone get an invitation, but I did find out that our conceirge was the one who recommended us.

One thing I wish I had known is that the concerige can get you a full set of the card that are handed out to the kids. Matthew tried so hard to get all the cards, but didn't. I wish I had known the conceirge could have helped. Oh well, maybe someday I will make it to a Cat 3 again.

Have a wonderful cruise.

I've stayed in 8600 and as Robin said, the handicapped Cat. 3 cabins are HUGE. The balcony on 8602 is the largest on the ship, 8600's is not nearly as large.

The downside is you don't have the jacuzzi tub and the verandahs are the covered metal kind, meaning you can't see the ocean while seated, you have to stand up to see it. Also it can get noisy overhead in the morning when they are putting out the chairs for Topsider's.

What a GREAT upgrade, congrats! :)

I was just thinking that I would like to get upgraded to a suite as I am booked in a category 4 on the October 9 Wonder but didn't think it was possible as there are not too many suites available. Too funny! May I ask what your cabin numbers were before and how you found out about your upgrade? We're in 8504 and 8506. We want to keep out rooms connecting though so probably no chance for upgrade. Congratulations!:D
