We are booked on the April 16th MAgic and we are looking for somewhere to stay near the port. I am going to go with the Budget rental car from MCO on suggestions I have read on here. Now looking to hear the pros and cons of hotels near the port. Nice pool and restaurant nearby or other acivity that a me and DS14 might enjoy the night before.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express near the port this past January. They have a nice pool and free breakfast which was very nice. It cost us 95.00 for 2 adults and 2 kids. There are several places to eat near the hotals by the port. This January we are staying at the Quality Inn next to the airport in Orlando. We got a room for 45.00, plus a continental breakfast. Our flight arrives at 7:00pm Friday night, so not having to drive to the port after we land will be nice. The hotels near the port a more money than near the airport. Thats the biggest pro or con I think there is.

We've done both, and it's fun to stay in the Orlando area the night before. Hotels are generally less expensive. But the best part is the short (45 minute) drive to the port. It is a very, very easy, straight drive, no stops at all, and it is great to go over that bridge and see the ship in the distance!

We absolutely loved the Ron Jon resort, but they don't offer a free shuttle to the port. We've also stayed at the Radisson to take advantage of the free shuttle. This time, we got the Wyndham Orlando for $32 through Priceline, so we think that's about the best deal around. You can usually get a nice Orlando hotel through Priceline for $35-$40.

With just 2 of you I am sure you can get a real good price at the Holiday Inn Express - they have a nice pool area (from what I have seen in pictures). We are not so lucky - there are 6 of us and we need a Suite so we picked the Radisson for the 2 nights before our cruise and the night we return from the cruise.

Good luck and keep looking - there are deals out there.

We picked the Hyatt at the airport. It was the shortest distance between the plane and a bed and we were scheduled to arrive around midnight. Glad we did since weather delayed our arrival till 3:30 AM.

We'll be on the 16th too! Our kids are a little younger than yours 5 DD /7 DS. Our 1st disney cruise & the kids 1st cruise ever! I haven't booked the hotel yet but I was thinking of staying near the airport since we have transfers the next day.

We are going down the day before and I wanted to stay near the port the night before. This will be our 4th time on the Magic. My son loves it more than DW. I got to admit it is one of our best vacations every time.

We stay near the airport so we can get a lillte trip into DDD or shopping. The hotels have free shuttles to and from the airport and some have limos to shopping.

I agree with above poster-- we will be staying near WDW so we can go to DDD or Boardwalk on Friday night to get a jumpstart on the Disney experience :earboy2:

Which hotels have you liked and why? We are getting in late afternoon so we want someplace with airport shuttles, close to a PLACE TO EAT DINNER & A POOL!

We are staying at the Sheraton, at the airport, the night before. We are cruising on the 9th of April. We stayed in Disney last March the night before. But it was a bit much for our little ones ages 5,5,4,2. All girls!!
I hope the Sheraton is clean! I know there is a pool!

We stayed at Radission because they offer free parking during our cruise. The rooms are nice, too.

We have stayed at the Sheratin, which I recommend, it was very clean and nice. Of course this was before the Hurricanes. Then las month we stayed at the Holiday Inn select. It was awful. The carpets were stained and it smelled. Of course this was the first floor. They did have a pool. They also offered a shuttle.

Does Ron Jons let you park for free during the cruise and how much for their shuttle to the port?

Also how much to park at the port?

We checked out Ron Jons Resort for 2 nights in October prior to our cruise since everyone here speaks so highly of it.

I was quoted $200 per night for a 1 bedroom :earseek:

Is this a normal price? Will discounts be released?
