Hi All,

I'm planning an evening at the Magic Kingdom. It's my last full night there, so I will be squeezing in a lot of attractions. My plan at this time is to grab a take-out dinner from one of the quick service restaurants, and eat it while I stake out a spot for the parade.

Does anyone know which restaurants might be ideal for this? I'm hoping I can find something that's easy to eat standing up or sitting on a curb! I expect my last attraction before the parade to be Splash Mountain if that makes a difference.

thx

We rarely eat out, we almost always bring our own food. But on occasion, we'll grab a quick meal. Our favorite go-to is Cosmic Rays, simply because it offers a pretty big choice of foods for all of us. It's meant to be a quick service sit down place, but no reason you couldn't take it to go. If you want to be in Frontierland, Diamond Horseshoe is a good option, or the restaurant right at the end...forget its' name...keep walking past the Diamond Horseshoe toward Splash Mountain and it's the last place on your left.

Pecos Bill's is what you may be referring to. That place can get busy but I believe hey recently redid the menu and it's gotten great reviews. Like other suggested Columbia harbor house is a good spot and Cosmic Rays rarely has a long wait time if all the bay's are open.

I third the Casey's suggestion, quick and easy and comes in a nice paper container to carry around. And if you end up wanting some ice cream too, the Edy's shop is right across the street, too convenient.

Another fan of Cosmic rays. We do this on party nights the food there is good. We have always enjoyed it anyway.

casey's. I believe they sometime even have cast members walking about selling hot dogs from a cart.

I was looking for something to bring back to hubby at our resort late one night while I was at Magic Kingdom.

I went to Casey's and got some corn dog nuggets (figuring the dogs inside the breading might stay warmer) and some fries. When they handed me the tray, I asked for a container with a lid and they gave me one. It was very convenient!

Of course, an ice cream sundae from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor might make a fun dinner too... The All-American is served in a nice tall cup - easy to hold, and any melted ice cream would stay in the cup. (It's just the whipped cream that rises above the top of the cup.)

I've done a hot dog at Casey's and it works out great while waiting for the parade.

Thanks all!

Do any of you know if Columbia or Pecos Bill or the Diamond Horseshoe offer take out containers? I just don't want to be juggling multiple containers (say burger/sandwich, side and drink) because I know I'll drop something, or smear food on my face and not be able to wipe it off!

Diamond Horseshoe is an all you can eat Table Service. No to-go.

Containers may be hit or miss as I've had some just lay another plate on top as a cover.

Frontierland is a great place to watch the parade, so Pecos Bills is a great choice. I have gotten food to go from there and brought it to my family on the tray, then we took the tray back when the parade was over.

Another vote for corn dog nuggets!! They're the easiest on-the-go option IMO. I have fond memories of eating them on the boat dock at midnight too :)

I SO wish Disney would offer carry out containers. In addition to wanting to have food on the go while enjoying the parks, sometimes you really need a to go box. Like when your toddler decides to pitch a fit and you are forced to flee the restaurant (and sometimes the park) or when said terrible 2 year old falls asleep in the stroller and if you stop rolling the beast will wake up. Yes, we love our children and grandchildren very much, but they don't always make the best restaurant diners. Add excitement, overstimulation, heat and exhaustion and man, sometimes you just need it to go!

Here's where I'm sitting. Personally, Cosmic Ray's is my favorite, but I like to sit and listen to Sonny Eclipse. I'm the first to admit that the food, while perfectly fine, is hardly what draws me to that place. So, no singing alien = not as interested. Columbia Harbor House has excellent food, especially for quick service, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to eat the salmon (which is what I get) while standing or sitting on a curb. I'm also not sure how well it would transport. That leaves me at Pecos Bill's or Casey's. With Pecos Bill's, I'm not sure how well it would transport, either, and, like Columbia Harbor House, I'm not sure I'd want to eat it without a knife and fork and the comfort of a table. Because of that, I'd go with Casey's. Plus, you'll be front and center for the parade when it goes to Main Street. Who can argue with that? Besides, hot dogs and french fries are very easy to transport and eat outside!

I myself would get two orders of Pot Roast and Mac from fryers nook, cover them with a napkin because they are in a bowl already. While they may not be a full meal, they are quite filling and probably can get you through the parade and on to the ice cream that waits after...:tigger:
