Hi,

Myself and DD (age 9) are transferring from the POP to RPH on March 8th. We leave POP at 11 a.m. and have secured a ride through a transportation service. With commute time (and a stop at the store), I figure maybe arriving at RPH roughly around noon. I believe we can't get into our room until 4 p.m.

I read in another thread (courtesy of Poster Damo - thanks!) that we can check in whenever we want. They will give us our room keys even if the room isn't ready. They will call our cell when the room is ready.

We won't be going to the parks because we have two day park tickets which we plan to use on the 9th and 10th. Any suggestions on how we can occupy ourselves for those few hours while we wait for our room? I don't really want to do a pool at that point because I want my stuff safely secured in a locker while I'm swimming.

I was thinking of going to Citywalk for lunch. Is there anything to do at Citywalk besides eat? Will there be any Mardi Gras festivities on a Thursday afternoon? :jester:

The mini golf will be open by then at Citywalk. Looks like a ton of fun.

Take in a matinee movie!

Two excellent suggestions! :thumbsup2

Another option is to have lunch at Margaritaville, specifically on the Porch of Indecision. Get a table that has a nice view of Citywalk. And then relax, while taking in the sights and sounds of Citywalk during lunch.

I know you stated in your original post that you didn't want to go to the pool as you wanted your bags secured. You can leave your bags with the concierge and they will store them for you. Not sure if you talking about your luggage or just your purse etc.

You could travel over with your swim wear on under some clothes, store your bags and and then hit the pool.

The other options also posted - lunch, pool, movie all sound good too :thumbsup2

I don't want to leave my purse out of my sight while I swim. But the mini golf and the matinee are great suggestions. I wonder if The Lorax will be playing? My DD really wants to see that one.popcorn::

We stay at HRH once a yr & usually arrive early on our check in day. After storing our luggage, we check in with the hotel and head to the fitness center. We get a locker with a lock & key free of charge to store personal belonings. There are also lockers located at the front desk. RPH also has lockers available both behind the front desk & at the fitness center. I am not sure if you would have to pay the $10 fee for the fitness center at RPH. We have never paid the access fee to get a locker at HRH. If this is an option, you may want call the hotel to find out for sure. There are also "cubbies" for personal items available when you check your luggage but I do not think you receive a key, which sort of defeats the purpose. :)
