We are diving from Indy to WDW and I need to buy a dual screen DVD player, any suggestions? I want something that doesn't require professional installation and can play different movies on the screens.

Second thing I need is a recommendation on an inflatable mattress. I'm thinking a twin XL. I don't know much about them, but it's needs to be easy to inflatable and deflate, it's going from BWV to the Poly.

Thanks!

We bought our dual screen DVD player from Amazon years ago... I think it's a Philips. No prof installation needed, it has velcro straps that go around the headrest and cables for power & to link the two screens. Easy Peasy. We usually put them in tandem (i.e. one for the first row and one for the second row). The cables can be annoying, but the kids get used to being careful not to pull them out when we stop for breaks.

Blow up mattresses we have also gotten from Amazon. None are great, but I think our Coleman has held up the best. The worst part is how loud the pumps are, but that's only a 20+ minute process... I just wouldn't consider doing it late at night unless you want some unhappy neighbors. Honestly my kids prefer using our camp cot over a blow up mattress (we have one like this: http://www.amazon.com/Mountain-Trails-Base-Camp-Cot/dp/B005NIAJCS/ref=pd_sim_sg_2). It's easy to put together, easy to store/carry, smaller so it takes up less space in the room, and no worrying about the air coming out during the night while you sleep.

We bought so many DVD players through the years as most with any use dont last more than 2 yrs. Best luck we had was with Radio Shack brands for durability. Also, for the kids and the adults, buy earphones that cover your kids ears. Any music on or talking in vehicle will cause lots of noise for those with earbuds on, and adults in turn will hear the movies playing.

As for mattresses we bought a few of those through the years. Seems like Ozark made a decent one. 2 features that I would make sure to get if I were going to buy one...get a plush top or something with fabric type material on top as others tend to make a "crinkling, cracking noise" that can keep any and all sleepers sleepless, also get one with an automatic reversible pump. They are a lot faster than blowing up by hand or worse, with your "own air":sad2:. Plus, they they tend to deflate over time, and a reversible will get that bad boy deflated quick when you find you are ready to leave.

Sorry I couldnt be more specific with brands. If you look on Amazon, you can at least see reviews about these items and they tend to be spot on in most cases.

We have an aerobed which was expensive, but has held up amazingly. It is easy to set up, deflate, has a built in pump and folds into its carry bag. It was worth every penny I paid and I am actually thinking about a 2nd one because they are in BJs pretty reasonably right now.

I don't have advice on DVD players other than be very careful when you buy, not all dual screens play 2 different movies! Santa brought one that he thought was going to play 2 different movies, but it will only play 1 movie on 2 screens. It doesn't say this anywhere on the box, so we noticed 6 months later when we went to use them. Then we realized that the "clue" was the picture on the box showed the same picture on both screens. Yup, I guess I am still bitter!

What do you consider reasonable? Amazon has a Queen for $124.00, is that a good price? Thank you!

I bought a full size air mattress in the camping section at Walmart about 8 years ago... I don't think I paid more than $30 for it. We used every week for about 3 years (my mom slept on it when she came 2 nights every week to watch the kids). Then it was used for the kids and she got one of their beds. It just got a hole in it a few weeks ago and we replaced it with 2 twin size mattresses from Job Lot that we got for $10 each. We also bought a small pump in the camping section. I don't know how much it was, but it plugs in and inflates the beds in less than 5 minutes.

My two cents on the dvd player, Unless I'm incorrect a dual DVD player will play the Same movie on both screens. You said that you want to be able to play different movies. If that is the case I would recommend getting two cheap dvd players. (This is what I am doing for our Disney Road trip in November. This way my two kids can watch what they each want to watch) You can find cheap units for around $50 or even cheaper on ebay)

As for the Beds, Kmart/Sears have good cheap beds (under $40.00) that have worked fine for us over the years. We use them for camping and travel Just make sure to get a cheap pump to blow them up.

Have a safe trip!!!

BJs has the twin for $69 , full for $99, so I'd say $124 for a queen was decently priced.

Not sure what kind of hotel room can fit a queen on the floor. I second getting a $20 twin in the camping section of walmart..... for $120 you might as well rent the roll away.

We did not buy a pump - the cheapys come with a hand pump in the box, but I cut a pop/water bottle in half, about half way along it, so it was like a funnel, then I just used the in room hair dryer on the fat end and put the mouth end in the air mattress... because I am just that smart!

We just bought a basic coleman type blow up mattress at target on sale. A friend of mine told me to buy the mattress and pump seperately. She said if one piece dies at least you only need to replace that part. Also if you need more then one mattress or a different size depending on the trip, it does not cost as much. She was right in my case. Dogs destroyed our blow up mattress last month. We own one pump, a double mattress extra high forguests at home, and a twin size for my DS for on trips to WDW.

I have an old old old portable DVD dual screen that plays two different movies (one on each screen) or they can be linked tandem and play the same on each screen.

We had good luck with it, and still use it. One of them is finally starting to go out if you put a dvd in it, but the other works great.

We got it at Sam's Club for about $180 (again this was like 5 years ago), but I think you can find them for about $100 now.

Or you can look on Craiglist and get either a used portable or two used singles....we may consider getting a couple of used singles, so each of our kids has their own.
