Hello,

This time around on my next cruise I am interested in maintaining the fish extender group or how others call it the group admin. Anyone have some pointers or feedback or some good advice from past groups experience that would be wonderful! Thank you.

I would suggest not starting the list too soon. Many times, if the list begins a year or so out, you'll find there are people who book the cruise, and then say they want to participate, you put their name on the list, and then they disappear, never to be heard from again.

Also, once you do have a list going, you should have a cut off date, so as to allow people time to get their gifts together.

Then, a few weeks before that cut-off date, post the list and require that everyone on it CONFIRM by XX date. Also be firm about "anyone NOT confirming will be dropped". Otherwise you'll be trying everything to track down those people and that's really not up to you. Your only job is to maintain the list and make sure it's correct. And then posting it after the cut off date for the participants to do their planning.
