Suggestions on off-site hotels

My family and I are heading out to Disneyland in November 2011 for a family wedding. We have never been to Disneyland only Disney World. I have been researching about the off site resorts and would love some input from people that have stayed off site. We have 2 children (ages will be almost 2 and 6 when we go). So we prefer something kid friendly and convenient to Disneyland.
Also, the wedding is in Disney so of course we plan on visiting the parks, but any suggestions of what else to visit near by while we are out there. We are considering renting a car.

HoJo's has their entertainment rate available for almost the entire month of November. You absolutely can't beat HoJo's with the entertainment rate. If it's available, you can get the Kid's Suite for $99/nt. That's two full rooms, each with its own bathroom. One room has a king, the other has twin bunk beds and a twin sofa sleeper.

You'll need to buy an Entertainment card sometime before you arrive. Be aware that the card years go from Nov through the following Oct. So you'll need to wait until just before you go, and buy a 2012 card, which is valid starting in Nov 2011. I'm also going in Nov and will have the same issue, but it should be fine.

If you kids are water fanatics like mine are then you would love HOJO's for their pirate play area at the front of the property. It's one of the top off site hotels in DL, along with the Candy Cane Inn. Either way you can't lose either way with either of these hotels. We are heading back there at the end of the month and staying at HOJO's again. I've always thought the sign of a good hotel is the repeat and loyal base of return travellers, which this hotel has a lot of.

hojos is the best but you need call soon some of there dates are already removed nov 27th an dec 2ed have recently been removed lucky i called before hand.
