suggestions on car hire

After all the useful advice on whether we should hire a car or not we have decided to hire one.
We are on holiday june 12-june 26 but i wont want a car for the first and last days of the holiday so i'm looking for 12 days car hire,has anybody got any suggestions on who to hire it from(somebody cheapish and reliable)

USrentacar seems to be a popular choice on these boards. I've found them to be the cheapest quote yet for my next trip.

whoever you go with check it isn't cheaper to actually get the car for the whole two weeks, most companies charge a daily rate but discount for a weeks hire. also be wary that if you hire for two weeks but take it back early you may be charged for 'breaking your contract' and they could then re charge you the daily, ie the higher, rate.

We used Yescarhire last time we went 2004. I found them to be excellent and reasonable. They use Alamo and were cheaper than Alamo direct. They will try and upgrade you to another car but we found they upgraded us for free as they had run out of economy cars. To my knowledge they are nothing to do with Yescarcredit.
