Has anyone run across a way to keep a hold of your hat? I was looking for a strap that i could connect from the back of my hat to my shirt collar but no luck so far. Any suggestions?

Is it like a baseball cap? If so maybe you could buy the cord for eyeglasses, and wrig it up that way ?

Yes it's a baseball style cap. I tried looking into those but they have loops for going around the ear pieces. I was thinking of something that would have clips on both ends.

Not to be rude but.........You could staple it to your head like Indiana Jones did in "Raiders ofthe Lost Ark" (Just kidding). I have the same problem, being more thatn semi-bald. I lost one of my best hats on a runaway mine train (not BTMRR).

Ok, this might be a little far-fetched, but how about something like the pacifier straps that babies/toddlers use? They are usually relatively short, made of thin ribbon material, and have a velcro loop on one end (which could wrap around the adjustment part in the back of the hat), and a clip on the other end that could attach to your shirt collar. You might even be able to find one with a Disney character on it :earsboy: ......(or not!)

Take it off while you're on any rides, and hold onto it.

I have a thick head of hair, but my hat always comes off when I'm on a ride.

I was wondering the same thing except mine isnt a baseball hat its a cotton sun hat (that i would be kinda upset if i lost). Someone suggested I put a string on it under my chin. Does that really work? I will take the hat off on rougher rides anyway and stick it in my backpack.

If this is a situation you'll be having for a long time, you might want to spend a few minutes and customize something. You could take a glasses-strap and attach clips to each end (like suspender clips). You could also sew a small button or loop on each side of your had and attach a strap that way.

Hmmm. Any entrepreneurs out there - sounds like an untapped market....

I always take it off and hold onto it during rides...............no big deal....... I've got to wear a hat since I am "hair follicle-y challenged" too...........

Thanks for all the advice. Just to let you know I did think actually consider the Duct tape idea(JK). The baby clip is just about perfect except for length. I will try the Kiwiclips. And yes this will be a continuing issue since I am hair challenged. 9 days till we go!

turn it backwards... the bill won't catch wind. I suppose anything can happen but my husband does this and it has never come off his head.

DH has a strap that looks like a shoelace with metal clips at each end. He uses it to keep his hat on while skiing. He's had it for several years, but I know he got it at a ski shop. Try checking at a ski/surf shop or a big outdoor store (Gart, Dick's). It works pretty well most of the time. Even if his hat flies off while he picks up speed, he doesn't lose it.

You could use those little straps with clips at the ends that toddlers use so they won't lose their mittens.
