I was in that area last weekend. Gulf Shores and Biloxi were nice. They both had nice white sand. Be advised of the currents though. You can find great seafood buffets in Biloxi at the casinos.

Destin is a great area! Beautiful, and some fun restaraunts, I believe putt putt, etc. that your DD would like.
Have fun!

yeahg my friend in hattiesburg was telling us today about bad rip curernts lately,,, we reall y wanting to stay in mississippi or alabama this trip,, i get into fla andi'll have to go see a mouse:)
:wave2:

In that case, I vote for gulf shores!

Gulfshores has better water and nicer sand beaches. I like to stay the Phoenix condo's when I go there which is everyother year. There is a nice mall area on the way down and a few waterparks for your kids to hang out in. There are also fewer jellyfish in the water in Alabama compared to the number you'll find in Biloxi's water. Phoenix V has both indoor and outdoor pools (lots of raining in this area lately) with good beach location. I think the site I signed up for is called beachresortguide.com

As for Biloxi/Gulfport, the Grand Casino in Gulfport is fabulous. It has a wonderful pool area with lazy river pool going around the grounds. Rooms are nice and it is hard to get rooms in that resort this time of year. Beau Rivage is also wonderful (general pool area) but hotel is very pretty and expensive (weekends cost over $200 per night). Each have there own website to cost everything out.

Have a great time.

Biloxi isn't a great place to swim at the beach, but the casinos are really neat. The Beau Rivage has the best buffet in town. Lots of seafood and the desserts are downright sinful. It's really pretty here, and the beaches are gorgeous, but no one really swims in the water here. If you all are into shopping, Gulfport has the prime outlets. I think Near Gulf Shores has that water park called Water city or H2O-ville or something like that. It looked pretty big.
Good luck, and have a safe trip!!!

I knew there was something I forgot. Type in a search engine "Brett Robinson" and a whole list of condo rentals will pop up. This has been the agency I have gone through to rent condo's in Gulfshores, AL. They have various specials and sometimes will give you a night free depending on season. I have also used there online service and never had a problem.

AmazingGrace is correct about MS water. BeauRivage has a great buffet and so does Boomtown Casino (Back Bay Biloxi). Very authenitic tasting New Orleans cuisine. Some restaurants say there food taste like ours but it doesn't but those two listed above do.

Either way, have a great time.

Thanks for all the greta info,, by friday morn i sdhould be an expert..lol:)

I have a friend that swears by brett robinson....probably a great place to start!::yes::

Using the Brett Robinson site, we have done the 5 for 7 deal the last few times we have gone. This deal is usually offered prior to the summer months (generally have to be in a condo before 5/18, paying for 5 nights and getting 2 free). This also goes on after Labor Day when kids have returned to school (and water is still hot enough for sharks to come in to shore). Last year I was swimming in the water with small teams of sting rays. It was both envigorating and freigtening all at the same time. Anyway we had a blast (we also got to watch water spouts forming about 300 feet from the shoreline - told you exciting).

Let us know what you find. If you stay at Beau Rivage, when business is slow, they will send out postcards to you with pretty good prices for multi day stays ($115 first night, $100 second night, etc.).
