Does anyone have any suggestions for good trip reports to read where parents have taken infants to the World? I want to read as many as possible in preparation for our trip next April when DS will be 5 months old. Thanks in advance!

I don't usually read or write trip reports, but I have taken a 5 month old to WDW and I'd be happy to try to answer any questions you might have. :goodvibes Oh, and congrats!

Don't read or write trip reports either but we did take our youngest to WDW when she was 2 months old so the grandparents could meet their newest GD. It was too cold for them to fly up. Too cold for me too but that is besides the point.

Are you flying? Then the main suggestion I have is don't try and pack it all. Bring the basics for a day, take magic express and have the necessities like diapers, formula - if you are using it, baby food - if you have started all shipped to your hotel. Conceirge will hold it until you check in. Garden grocer is who I used but diapers.com and plenty of places will ship. Don't forget a case of water for you and hubby. Map out now where the baby stations are at the parks. If you forget to pack something in the diaper bag, they will probably have it - maybe not the brand you use. Baby swap is great. As far as day to day, be flexible and try and keep the routine! While at the parks DH and I try and have magical moments by shopping while the girls are napping in the stroller or share our favorite snack. Our girls are 2 and 3, have been 4 times with them. We have our daily park plan that we would like to do but still keep things flexible and work around THE NAP. Character meals have been the most fun for DH and I simply because of the pictures!! I have autograph books from each trip and put a little picture next to the signature, like a little scrapbook. I could look at those all day long! For us, still, it is all about preserving the memories so when they get older they can appreciate when they were 5 months old and got Mickey's autograph and picture! My 3 year old LOVES seeing the pics and videos.

I don't know how much of a Disney maniac you are, like us, but what I did and had a lot of fun at it was not only the autograph books. We got the photopass cd, pre-pay it is cheaper, stopped every photographer you come across and take pics! Take pics with the characters, stand in line or character meals. I did lanyards for each girl with Disney pins that had their month (like birthstone), year of birth, first park, first ride, my first trip. The color of the lanyard is the same as their birthstone. The bottom of the lanyard, can't remember the name of the thing that clip on but that is the year in metal. I collected everything that had Disney and their year of birth.

Creative DISigns board has a bunch of VERY cute DISigns that you can make tshirts that say this is my first trip to WDW. The DISigners will personalize their DISign for you. Just ask them. Natalie (Donatalie) has SUPER cute baby mickey and pals stroller tags. You can get lost FOR DAYS in that forum! Of course, stop by guest relations AT EACH PARK and get the button that says my first time at Disney (something like that, BOY! mommy brain is kicking in today! :rolleyes1 )

Sorry to write so much. Can you tell my girls are napping! If you are flying, I can give you all kind of tips. Feel free to PM me or ask it here. I can only tell you what worked for us, then you take it from there. Enjoy your trip! It is truly magical to see WDW thru your childs eyes!!

DH and I did take DD at 9 months old, she had JUST given up baby food. We used garden grocer for Diapers, snacks, water and had it delivered. I can answer any question you's like to put out there. Ummm I would also bring DS stroller as it's his and the Disney strollers don't really accomadate the little guys. Like the pp be flexable, there are rides you can ALL go on Pirates, spaceship earth, small world. there are more in MK than the other parks but it is also nice to have some one sleeping and be able to walk around WSC at night and just enjoy the frist time he sees a charactor, it well worth it.

Ok, this isn't exactly a trip report but I have our trip videos from October 2007 when our DD was 10 months old, if you're interested.

I ended up deleting my trip report because my in-laws had second thoughts about me posting photos of them on the DIS  They originally game me their permission only to complain about it later so I just deleted it.

But if you have any questions, feel free to ask :thumbsup2

Your baby will be over two at the time of your trip, correct?
That is a great age. We have season passes & take our son (now three) weekly.
Make sure you pack a lot of snacks, drinks, diapers, get a fan for your stroller.
Fantasy land is great at that age & Epcot is a nice place to be once the strioller nap takes place because you & your DH can still take in some sights.

We took DD when she was just turning 6 mo. She did excellent in the parks. We had our own stroller with a sunshade. We took a big can of formula and a whole pack of diapers (1/4 of the box from Sam's club).

I packed disposable everything! Disposable bibs, changing pads, spoons (for cereal), etc. I did take a crib sheet for the pack and play we used at the hotel. It was one I didn't care too much about so we actually left it at the hotel at the end of our stay. That way our suitcases were lighter on the way home.

We kept her on her normal feeding times. She would nap in the stroller if she was tired. There were a couple of days she was fed up with being in the stroller so we put her in the backpack for a while.

She rode on as many rides as she could (we had our 2 yr old with us, so it's not like we were doing any of the big rides anyway). She rode on POTC, Gran Fiesta, the train, Nemo, Monster's Inc (okay, sat through that one...) HM, JC. Stuff like that. She liked the parade at DHS but didn't care much for Wishes.

It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. I would just recommend taking your time. There's no need to rush through everything. As long as you plan ahead, you'll be just fine.

Also can't promise my trip report is any good but my trip report is linked at the bottom,

Seth was 10 months and Cullen 2.5 when we went.

Have a great trip.

Kirsten

Hey Candleonthewater,
This is from a spouse from down south. We are getting ready to take our WDW trip and the DD is 4 months. So I will let you know how it goes and what we are able to accomplish!
