My daughter has her long awaited Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo appointment next weekend and then I am treating her to a birthday dinner at Cinderella's castle. I am looking for suggestions to get her from downtown disney to WDW without too much stress (she will be wearing her cinderella gown and have her hair done). Should I drive or will parking be really difficult at 6 p.m? Should I go back to our hotel (Shades of Green) and take their bus to the monorail? I plan on packing her sneakers so she can walk comfortably, but she wants to wear her "glass slippers" with her gown when we get to the castle. Any advice would be appreciated. :thumbsup2

I assume you'll have driven to DTD? And the bus from Shades goes to the TTC and not straight to the MK?

I would drive from DTD straight to the MK/TTC parking lot. You'll have a tram ride and a monorail ride, but I think that would be quicker than driving to Shades, waiting for the bus, and then taking the monorail.

Driving would be the least stressful. Yes parking may become tough at 6:00 but won't you be at DTD by then? What time is dinner in the castle?

DTD IS in WDW. :confused3 Do you mean the Magic Kingdom?

Have you considered taking a cab? Last year we needed to get from Boardwalk to our room at the Polynesian quickly, and the buses were all behind schedule. We aksed the Boardwalk desk clerk call a cab, and it arrived within minutes. The fare was $10 for 4 people. Though other transporatation is free, you might want to schedule a cab ride for this special occasion.

I would suggest taking a bus from DTD to the Grand Floridian and hopping on the monorail from there to the MK. You can use any transportation at Disney if you have a ticket or are staying there. Shades of Green buses only leave 1 time per hour from DTD. I suggest the Grand Floridian because it is the last stop before the MK. Of course if you drove to DTD then drive back but otherwise use resort transportation- not a quick but infinately easier unless you know the roads very well.

Another tip for Shades of Green transportation- if you missed a bus to anything but TTC- then take the 1/2 mile walk down to the Polynesian and use Disney transportation- it comes more often than Shades of green.

You are right, I meant Magic Kingdom. We have the Bibbidi thing at 4:00 and then dinner at the castle at 7:30 pm. :goodvibes

Thanks! You know, that is a great idea. We will be in no rush to get to Downtown Disney so the Shades bus will be fine with that. Then taking the Grand FLoridain bus will be great and we can pop in to the resort to see the gingerbread house, etc. Fantastic!

That's what I would do!
