We are going to WDW for two nights without the kids in May. I would appreciate any suggestions for hotel and dining. Thanks!

Last summer we went alone for 1 night and stayed at the Poly. Maybe because we stayed there on our honeymoon, but I find the grounds there to be beautiful and romantic. Plus we got to eat at my favorite restaurant, Kona Cafe.

I'd choose Lagoon room view at the Poly or Grand Floridian. If you can afford it the BWI has several differnent types of "Honeymoon" Suites which are really awesome. I saw pictures of them somewhere on these boards. There are somewhere like 5 different themes and are very private, romantic, with awesome views.

I agree with jason (jaysue)...BWI and AKL would be great choices. :) If you stay at AKL, do have a meal at Jiko. And you could have room service on your balcony overlooking the savannah one night or morning. And there area a lot of choices if you stay at the BWI for nice dining. Good luck with your choice. -HM

DH and I don't have kids, so we always travel to WDW without kids - we have stayed just about everywhere, but enjoy BWI or Swan the most, as far as having few kids around. Any of the deluxes are nice, and we can find romance everywhere. There are a few great books about Disney without kids - I would recommend investing in one. They also have nice write-ups for restaurants etc. Have fun!!!

I would choose one of the Epcot resorts on Crescent Lake (BWI, BC, or YC). They have a wonderful location that will put you within walking distance of a ton of good restaurants (at the resorts and Epcot's World Showcase). I think the YC has a very adult atmosphere, and it's very relaxing. I stayed on their concierge level (room 5151) this past December and found it to be a very "pampering" experience. If budget permits, I would definitely try concierge level or even a suite. The BoardWalk Inn has "garden suites" with their own private little garden area with a white picket fence, jacuzzi tub, and loft. They look super nice (we will be staying in one for part of our honeymoon) and tucked away for some calmness and privacy. They are pretty pricey though (regular season they are $600 per night plux tax), but look very nice.

That having been said, another romantic resort area would be the MK monorail resorts. The views of the castle from the Poly's castle view rooms are really neat. I do find that the Poly generally has lots of kids/families at it, but they have never interfered with my relaxation/enjoyment while staying there.

My not so DH and I stayed for a long weekend at the BWI and had the best time ever (with him anyway). It was very romantic and we had an incredible dinner right next door at the Flying Fish. A little pricy but well worth ever single cent. We walked the boardwalk to Epcot and to MGM. Had a cinnamon yummy bun and coffee (Boardwalk Bakery) in the morning. The hotel is lovely but make sure you aren't on the parking lot side if you can avoid it as it can be noisy at night.
