Hi everyone, I have been to DW several times as a kid but I am planning my first trip for my family. We are driving from NJ and will be staying at the WL and rather then check in late we would prefer to stay offsite when we arrive down there then drive over to WL in the am. Do ypu have any recommendations for a nice inexpensive hotel for two adults and one child? We would prefer one that doesn't give away that we are at Disney if possible, the trip is a surprise. Thanks for your help!

We've been driving the last few years and I always end up booking a hotel off 95 somewhere from Jacksonville to Daytona. It is ony a few more hours to WDW the next day and it always ends up being cheaper than booking anything around Orlando. Also driving from Lumberton NC all the way to Orlando just seemed like too long a drive. My DD is almost 11 now but she still gets antsy in the car after a very long time.

We have stayed at Hawthorn Suites, just right off property several times. It's clean and provides breakfast.

Recently I found Holiday Inn Express in Lake Buena Vista -- looks good and less expensive, but we haven't stayed there.

We're doing the same thing. It's about a 10 hour drive for us, so we get up early and drive down during the day, stay off site for the evening and them check in that morning to get our KTTW.
Last time we stayed at the Hampton Inn by the Orlando Mall. It was a good 15-20 minute drive in the morning, but was easy b/c traffic was light. We went to the mall and went shopping, and it was inexpensive- I want to say we paid about $60, but it seems higher this year than two years ago. We'll probably end up going with them again. The surrounding areas are a little bit shady, but we were ok with it. We did get a free hot breakfast the next morning- they normally have the typical pastries and fruit, but they also have a waffle machine thingie and a buffet with a few hot items (biscuit, sausage, eggs). Hampton Inn also does a bag at the counter with stuff like a bottle of water, apple and a muffin for people who need to eat on the run. We pick one of those up and bring it with us for snacks! :)
ETA- This was also north of the Disney stuff, so it didn't scream that we were there for Disney!

Thank you everyone for your help, now I have a places to start looking at. Andrea that sounds good, I like that it won't give anything away and we can eat before we head over to.WL. thanks again for your help
