I am hoping those with much more experience in photograpgy can help me out.:worship: I currently own a SONY N50 camera.(10.1 megapixel) I have yet to get good pics when shooting at night or trying to capture shots with fireworks. Either I am not setting the options correctly, though I have set it to fireworks when I tried those and they come out extremely blurry. Now, my budget is $350 max. and would love to hear your suggestions and advice.:flower3:

Thanks.

For $350, you are not going to get anything that does any better than what you already have. You are better off learning the limitations of your camera and how to use it properly. P&S cameras are not made for low light work. To have any success, you are going to have to use a tripod and have a subject that is not moving.

How are you shooting night photos and fireworks? If you don't have one you may want to invest in a decent tripod instead of buying a new camera.

That's what I was afraid of, but thought I would get some honest advice on this board. Since I only use my camera a couple times a year, I don't want to invest too much money. Guess I better learn how to get the best use out of my camera. Thank you for your advice.

With your $350 budget, you should be able to pick up a nice tripod. Then you should see quite the improvement in you night and fireworks photos.

OP, did you mean the H50? I have that camera and have had decent results with it. For fireworks go to the scene option and choose fireworks. That gives a fairly decent picture. I got this one last October at the MNSSHP.

I actually shot this from the plane with out a flash for obvious reasons.

The camera does have some limitations but play around with it. I still use it even though I have moved on to a DSLR.
I wanted to add that the fireworks shot was done without a tripod.
